Greg Kot has been the music critic at the Chicago Tribune since 1990. Kot's latest music book, "Ripped: How the Wired Generation Revolutionized Music," was published in 2009 and will be updated and reissued in paperback in 2010. His biography of Wilco, “Learning How to Die,” was published in 2004. His Tribune-hosted blog, Turn it Up, debuted in 2007. A longtime basketball junkie, he coauthored "Survival Guide for Coaching Youth Basketball" in 2008. Kot also has written for Encyclopaedia Britannica, Rolling Stone, Details, Blender, Entertainment Weekly, Men's Journal, Guitar World, Vibe and Request.
He lives on Chicago's Northwest Side with his wife, two daughters, and far too many records.
