Since this has turned into a Sound Of Silver thread, could someone please reup that album either here or in the Trout thread? I've tried getting it from several sources, and it's always corrupt. What's the world coming to when a guy can't steal an album fair and square?

Tell me what else I'd like, pls.
How's that Pissed Jeans LP? Cos I was all over 'Shallow,' but haven't listened to the new one yet.

Not nearly as good as Shallow, I don't think. I mean, it's more of the same, but there's nothing anywhere near as anthemic as "Ashamed of My Cum" or "Boring Girls."

Have you heard the Mark Sultan album???

Damo Suzuki: So, um, yeah. Getting older isn't as bad as it sounds. Better than being young & poor (DjDrake) or young & slutty (SG) or young, poor and slutty (Paves); am I right?

Alright, my friends. It's time for another solid little rock jam

5. Sakamoto/Fennesz - Cendre

While I think this is pretty decent, I've never understood the love for it. I find Sakamoto's work with Alva Noto (Insen and the Revep EP) to be far more interesting.

yeah, I had both of those but never listened to them much for some reason. This one I instantly latched onto though. It's weird because I was getting so tired of 'piano ambient' stuff and wasn't expecting to like it much at all, but it drew me in.

3. Angelic Process - Weighing Souls with Sand

Boris with Michio Kurihara - Rainbow
Bloody Panda – Pheromone

I wish I had room to squeeze all these in! Thank goodness for metal's huge year, otherwise 2007 would have been horribly boring.

I should mention that Between the Buried and Me's Colors is also on my top ten bubble...

Really love the Blonde Redhead album, too. Gets better with every listen.

Sorry, Mark.

Well, it's awesome. As good as (if not better than) Khan's album (which is also awesome.) Really similar sounding to the KK & BBQ Show records, but more concise and flawless. Just a solid, diverse-as-crap 29 minutes. The Blood Visions of rawass old-timey rock 'n roll appreciation. RIYL: Sam Cooke, Simply Saucer, The Wailers, Buddy Holly, Q'65. Excellent.

And yeah, ha, I am a pretty big fag.

And maybe The Dirty Projectors.

what's it like?

http://soundopinions...irty projectors

I don't know, it's just great. Jingly guitars, knotty rhythms, strong emphasis on breezy vocals. Gorgeous stuff. Yeah, I don't know.

Is it more like Slaves' Graves and Ballads or Getty Address? I loved the former and hated the latter.

If forced to choose I'd say Slaves' Graves, but really, neither. Rise Above is far too honest-to-god pop (albeit pop of the wildly experimental variety) to be compared to either album imo. But don't take my word for it...

In a nutshell...

Sounds like: album of the year.

RIYL: life, music, anything beautiful.

Any links out there? I've always liked their style, so if they put it together consistently that's good news.

Bloody Panda – Pheromone

Oh, that was this year? Nice, on my list.

Yeah, came out in April. Vinyl due out this month!

That's hot. I'd been putting off buying it because I couldn't discern whether it was on vinyl or not. Great news.

[I need, like, a red hotline phone so you can tell me when something cool's coming out on 12.]

I think I forgot the new Arctic Monkeys album. I really don't like Blonde Redhead for the female singer, but I'm listening to "Spring and By Summer Fall" on Sirius' Left of Center now and really dig the song (the girl ain't singing it though).

K, I'm sold.
I have a gift certificate to Laurie's that needs to be used.

Also, I just cannot jump on the Blood Visions bandwagon. Sorry. Kind of like I can't get behind Art Brut. I juss don't get it.
