Do I have any alternatives to Comcast for internet without going to DSL? My first 6 months with them are up and it's really expensive now. I'm in the Chicago suburbs.

Have lots of close neighbors? Buy a wi-fi card. At least one of them is an idiot and left a wireless router open. Failing that, DSL is really cheap lately. And I'm not just saying that because I work for you know who. Or are you out of DSL range?

you might also want to try RCN, which is 30 bucks a month, but i have never met anyone whose building was wired for it.
