Blood Visions is seriously up there with Come & Get It and When I Said I Wanted To Be Your Dog as one of the most insanely and consistently brilliant collections of pop songs from recent years. That twin guitar line in "Waiting For Something"... FUCK. So good.

And the outro in "Oh It's Such A Shame"... pure sonic beauty. Genius.

Damo Suzuki: So, um, yeah. Getting older isn't as bad as it sounds. Better than being young & poor (DjDrake) or young & slutty (SG) or young, poor and slutty (Paves); am I right?

Alright, my friends. It's time for another solid little rock jam

Reminds me of Catherine Wheel. First time I heard it I was like "WT? Where did this come from. This is so fucking cool."

Greatest tattoo thread ever? :D

I absolutely love Blood Visions. It destroys. And it reminds me of the "bloody diapers" bit from Season 4 of "Mr. Show." Thanks for the heads up on his new singles.

Also slept on, while we're talking In The Red Records:

The King Khan & BBQ Show. Amazing band.

yeah, what the deal with these guys?

Blood Visions = one of the greatest albums of all time.

I agree with this. For me, it's like an incredible version of 80s punk. It picks up right in '84 in the meat puppets era in my opinion. Except it just is better than anything I can think of from that era.

This one's really great - a little more explicitly new wave and quite a bit less severe than the other stuff. Excellent songs, you bet. It's a duo collaboration between Jay and Alicja Trout, done (I think) after the Lost Sounds broke up, managing to sound like both the Frogs and Gary Numan at the same time. Cool stuff that manages to be noisy and crazy sounding without the paint peeling urgency we're used to from these folks.

This review I wrote a few months ago pretty much sums up my feelings about this album.

Seriously, everybody who is currently following music needs to know about this album. We, the music fans of 2007, have a genuine classic on our hands.

i like how you and dan deliver.

I listened again this AM and it was totally awesome. I am really mezmerized by this album. It might be the greatest minimalist music I have ever heard. It's minimalist, but the way the guitars layer is just so interesting.

yeah, this is a release i definitely wish i heard last year so i could give it proper placement on my end of year list. it would definitely be high. it's just such a simplistic, raw, aggresive record, but there isn't a lot to it. just great layers of sound and a surprising number of hooks. this is the kind of record i'd imagine a lot of skater kids, but the cool skater kids, woudl be in to. i keep thinking how Death is Forming would fit on, like, an episode of Jackass or something. And I don't think that's a bad thing at all.

There is an interview or article with him in Thrasher. Not sure if it is the current one on the newstand, an older one, or an upcoming issue. There is a picture of it on his myspace page, though.

I'm gonna grab that Nervous Patterns. I had no idea about half his countless projects.

A quick google turned up an active Blood Visions link:
