We released a Jay Reatard four track demos 7" on our label for the Australian tour. Also a Dirtbombs single 'Need You Tonight' b/w 'Devil Inside', two rare Australian proto/weird punque tunes given a classy touch.

They are each $10ppd in Australia and US$12ppd to the rest of the world. Shit is expensive to post out of our country. Fuck.

Holy shit, everybody listen to the last minute and a half of the Pixies' "Alec Eiffel" while thinking about the outro in "Oh It's Such A Shame." Fantastic.

Damo Suzuki: So, um, yeah. Getting older isn't as bad as it sounds. Better than being young & poor (DjDrake) or young & slutty (SG) or young, poor and slutty (Paves); am I right?

Alright, my friends. It's time for another solid little rock jam

Yes...it's pretty great!
Looks like she landed on her knees and some dude grabbed her arms. So I don't feel bad for laughing.

Not trying to "yellow the mellow", but anyone else thinking Jay's gotta get the bass player singing some backup vox? Since they lost that other guitar, Jay's guitar still sounds rad but I'm thinking they're missing the occasional second vocal. Still, some pretty good visual evidence that Jay's still raging.

I think the guitar took more of a hit than the vocals. I also think that the problem with the vocals is that Jay now has to concentrate on playing all of the guitar parts, instead of letting the other guy play lead. I'd personally rather have Jay on vocals. I'm sure he'll get more comfortable with the extra burden as time goes by. They toured quite a bit with two guitarists so it was probably a big adjustment.

Here are a couple shows for comparison (I posted one of these on the previous page):

2007 in Toronto with all 3 Boston Chinks

2008 in Australia with only 2 Boston Chinks

Flat Records, best new poster of the month if I do say so myself I don't think I've gotten the chance yet to say welcome to the board. You are already a valuable asset who adds more than most schlubs around here ever will.

haha, thanks. I'm just happy that there's a 94 page thread on Jay Reatard!! This place looks pretty interesting, I think I'll stick around. Thanks to the guy who posted the SXSW videos too. I'm kicking myself for not making it down there.

Finally bought Blood Visions on vinyl. Daves Records for 11 bucks, cheaper than at the show.

not hearing it...

C'mon, the fucking airy synth tone, the way it could vamp on for eternity and you'd just be illuminated from total melodic bliss... the effect is similar to me.

Anyways, this finished version of "Always Wanting More"... shit.
