all i know is the one instrumental track - "the hives are law, you are crime." i have it on a tape in my car. great name and even a pretty good song. i think it was on a single.aren't there a few tracks on "your new favourite band" that aren't covered by the 3 albums? lets get those up here as well for the uninitiated.

love 'em. saw them at the metro 2 years (2 years!?) ago. we definitely need more output from these boys.

Do you guys like the Wiggles? The Hives supposedly ripped off their whole schtick from them, which is very easy to believe.

Oh yeah, and new album is apparently titled "The World's First Perfect Album" or something to that effect. If that doesn't excite you for this band, then seriously, what the fuck will?

i believe this is true. i seem to recall someone discovered the hives' songwriting royalties all go to nicholas arson. Is the guy that put together the Hives, Randy Fitzsimmons (who handpicked the musicians, wrote all the songs for the first three albums, etc), still involved? Is he really Nicholas Arson?
yes, i'll vouch for this. i saw them in philly in 2001 and they were amazing - second band of four and they were so cocky, yet so good. pelle kept talking about it being their first trip to philly (maybe even on their first US tour) and said after about five songs, "do you love us? i know you love us! we are your new favorite band!" i would normally dislike that schtick, but they sounded so good it was hard to argue. milemarker and t(i)nc also played. neither had a chance to wow after the hives. i saw them again the next summer and it was good, but that first show couldn't be trumped. As for the live show, outrageously amazing. They have a DVD too, a live show and videos, but even watching them live on tape doesn't seem to do them justice. It's one of those things where the band outputs so much energy onstage, it's impossible not feel the same.
