I still owe my dad a birthday gift from two weeks ago and now I need to get him a Father's Day gift by Saturday. I have no idea what I should get for him. What do you get for a 54 year old dude who says he has everything he wants? My stepmom says I should get him something for his new garage (they just finished building a new house), like a sign that says "Dad's Garage" or something like that, but I think that's terribly lame.
So, what are you guys doing for your dads? I miss the old days where I could mold an ashtray out of clay and carve a few hearts in it and be done with it. And yes, when you are a kid you can give ashtrays to relatives who don't smoke. They still love it because you made it.

A nifty timer that counts down to Bush's last day in office. My dad hates anything Republican and blames every problem since the 80s on Reaganomics.
A burned copy of the Neil Young DVD that came out a while back with his 1971 pre-Harvest release show in Canada when he was like 24 years old. Saw it at a friend's house, it was awesome. I'll buy it myself and burn him a copy, he'll only watch it once.

Mine gets a card every year. That's all he really wants.
But surely something you put together would be nice. Why don't you get him a personalized T-shirt saying something like "I'm Red's Dad, So I Guess I'm Partially Responsible."
