That is proof that Prince is the best thing on the planet.

holy shit. it looks like he totally stole solo time from the other guys but they don't even care. What does he do with his guitar at the end? it looks like he throws it up, but it doesn't come back down. just how strong is this man?
hey guys hows it goin

Man, I just downloaded a 20 CD set of his outtakes. 20 CDs!! Not a single repeated song. Insane. Haven't heard Vibrator yet, but looking forward to it and all 5 million other outtakes and songs on there. Prolific doesn't begin to describe the man's output.

I've just finished getting the first 16 of these discs, I think. Is that 'The Work' volumes 1-5? If so, I'm onto that shit too. Kinda weird listening to the original version of 'Love.. Thy Will Be Done' and getting the idea of Martika outta my head.

"see how hard it is when you can play anything you want".

the man

Another fave quote of mine from him (not really related to him):

Q: Who would win in a fight between you and Michael Jackson?

A: (Laughing) Michael's a lover, not a fighter!

yeah i always wondered if he just had magical powers and it disappeared in a puff of purple smoke or something, because seriously, it doesn't land or anything.

i love how i think its george harrison's son (donnie?) is cracking up when prince is soloing. tom petty seems sort of pissed though.

deleted. look, if you don't already own it, steal these offa the rainbow children now: rainbow children 1+1+1 IS 3 family name digital garden. i have a hard time not putting those four songs in my top 20 all-time prince joints. all i'm sayin' is while listening to digital garden feel free to go about business as usual for a few minutes..grab that drink feed that animal...whatever. just please be sitting down by the two minute mark - i don't want to feel responsibile for your head exploding.
We go 0 to Dennehy in three seconds or less.

I love the solo he bursts into at the end of the Planet Earth title track although if it was in the 80's it probably would've went on for 3 more minutes.

The best sounding live bootleg you'll ever hear. Includes loads of crazy guitar solos and Prince banter.

OK... kinda bad to raise my old thread from the dead.

But I gotta say that I'm listening to 3121 tonight and it's finally dawning on me how much of a great fuckin' album this is. Sure, it's no Dirty Mind, but is the only reason this isn't praised as highly as it should be because it's Prince and he's judged on how good his music should be, rather than comparing it to what came out at the same time? 'Cos all I'm saying is that if I was doing up a best of 2006 list right now, this thing would be very near the top...
