JESUS & MARY CHAIN | Announce Fall U.S. Dates, New Album

The Jesus & Mary Chain have confirmed that they will be recording their first new record since Munki, as well as heading on a fall U.S. tour. The only announced dates are currently on the West Coast, where they'll be doing some recording. No East Coast dates have been announced yet.

The show I saw at Webster Hall sucked, but I still love myself some J&MC......

New Song Featured On Upcoming “Heroes” Soundtrack

(September 24, 2007) – THE JESUS & MARY CHAIN today announced two new dates on their west coast fall tour. The recently reunited group will return to the U.S. beginning October 20th in Las Vegas and have added stops in San Diego and Denver. Last week, it was announced that Black Rebel Motorcycle Club will be supporting the band on the October 23rd date in Los Angeles.

The Jesus and Mary Chain have recorded a new song, “All Things Must Pass,” which will be their first new release in nearly 10 years. The song will appear on the forthcoming "Heroes" soundtrack to the critically heralded NBC TV series, scheduled for a mid-January '08 release.

After playing their last gig in 1998 and breaking up in 1999, The Jesus & Mary Chain reunited this spring for a handful of high-profile club and festival dates in the U.S. and Europe which began with a triumphant main stage performance in front of an estimated 10,000 fans at Coachella. In their only U.S. interview to date, brothers Jim and William Reid sat down with Rolling Stone magazine the day after that performance and hinted at a possible return to the studio, which is now confirmed.

In addition to Jim and William Reid, The Jesus & Mary Chain lineup includes Phil King on bass, Mark Crozer on guitar, and Loz Colbert on drums.

I don't understand why people are excited about this reunion, other than to say "I saw the JAMC."

Very boring when I saw them.

I've always wanted to see them. I just have a hard time believing that they would be bad live - although thats what absolutely everyone seems to say.

no I'd say both were true circa 98' had I seen them in 89 I may have felt different but that last tour completely blew so I for one am not particularly excited by the reunion idea unfortunately.

I saw Automatic and Honey's Dead tours. Boring.

I saw their pre-Coachella warm-up show in Pomona, CA and it was awesome. Not mind blowing but to hear these songs live was something amazing. They were more than adequate.
