Don't you get Graham Coxon as support tonight and not missing any football! Didn't open with "Only Shallow" last night.
A friend says Kate Nash was there on Saturday, something to bring up if I see her at Glastonbury.
PS. Sorry to disappoint but by all accounts they've never played "Sometimes" live.

Set could have been two songs shorter, Value for money not an issue here, it's MBV, no one would have complained if they'd played 85 minutes instead of 95. There was one point where the guy next to me sent me a text - no point trying to speak - saying 'this is getting a bit boring' and he was right; but then the next 3 songs up were Slow - Soon - Feed me with your kiss. So...Wow.
Went for a walk round the back after 10 minutes or so of holocaust, plenty of 1000 yard stares in evidence, the security staff were just pointing at people and laughing.
Coxon was alright, doing his one-man journey into sound, sampling and looping himself and whining over the top from time to time in that Barretty way he has.

That was a great review. They all look like serious drug addicts

I'll be happy just to see MBV live. They could play Kate Nash covers and hey, it'd still be MBV live and in living color. But it is pretty disappointing that they're not digging out "Sometimes".

Jon Wozencroft, photographer and owner of the Touch label (Fennesz, Rosy Parlane et al)
put together a moving slideshow of MBV @ the Roundhouse
unfortunately not any good shots of the stage, but plenty of people holding their ears

Fair enough. I was a wee lad back then, so I'm frothing over the fact that I can finally see MBV now. They're playing the worst venue in Toronto too, but from all accounts I've heard, they've made some pretty big caverns in the UK sound great. Stoked.
