I have a friend who was there and he said it was pretty weird watching Bruce singing "Keep the Car Running" with, as he put it, some kids from Montreal, while all evening Springsteen's fans had been growing increasingly impatient because the Boss wasn't playing a lot of his older songs.

Pretty funny to hear the 'cameraman' completely geek out. "OH MY GAWD"

yeah. me too. actually, scratch that, i think the boss is awesome, but i'm by no means a hardcore fan (although i do like pretty much all of his stuff that i've heard).

anyhow, that tune is basically a springsteen song in the first place, the boss' fans should have been thrilled.

I've been trying to see Springsteen since I was a kid. If I finally get to see him and he's covering some song from the Arcade Fire's sub-par second album? No offense, Arcade Fire, but fuck off and let me hear "Candy's Room" or "Backstreets".

a valid point, but still it seems like it was only about 10 minutes in what's usually a minimum 150 minute concert.

True. And it's a cool thing. I'm just playing Springsteen-fanboy-advocate. He's got a huge catalogue of songs and his shows cost a pretty penny. I'm sure some people in the crowd were thinking "well, there's one less Bruce song I get to hear tonight".

I dunno...does one really start dividing price of a ticket to cost per song? I think it's more about the experience and if you've got an act that Canada is quite proud of right now, up there with Bruce and there's added electricity in the air. That's coming close to priceless.

and those fans can go fuck themselves.

so they miss one song? there is value & meaning in seeing older rockers collaborate with artists they have influenced.

Yeah, it's probably a one-time thing, so if you were there - you're lucky to have been there. I don't think anyone divides the price of a ticket to cost per song. I'm just saying - if you're in that crowd and you paid $200 for your seat and you don't like the Arcade Fire, you might not be thrilled with it. Especially since they did an AF song.

pretty sure any huge E Street fan that didn't like KTCR wouldn't have traded not hearing the first full band State Trooper since the BITUSA tour for it though ;)

Speaking of things running, I'm pretty sure that's what Brandon Flowers' mascara is doing somewhere.
