I know I'm on the losing end of this one, but help me and Johnny Feathers settle this argument: Which is the better composition - Bodysnatchers or House of Cards?
Advance thanks for those who choose one or the other rather than post "Videotape" and think, "Hey, I bet I just made everyone laugh" using your increasingly sharp and refined wit.

I realize this thread is pseudo-reduntant, however, I'm looking for a head-to-head between these two songs alone.
I'm not interested in where people place these tunes in relation to the rest of the record, but intrested where people place these tunes in relation to each other.

Those are two horrible songs. One song is just dull plodding crap, the other is just the equivalent of a guy standing six inches in front of you and yelling a long unmodulated "UUUUUUUHHHHHH." Lyrical clangers:
"I don't wanna be your friend/I just wanna be your lover"
"The light's gone out for me! And it's the 21st century!"
"House of Cards" has a dull and uninteresting riff and annoying "whoooooo" groaning. "Bodysnatchers" has that annoying double-time drumming. I'll just say that "House of Cards" is worst.

Those are two horrible songs. One song is just dull plodding crap, the other is just the equivalent of a guy standing six inches in front of you and yelling a long unmodulated "UUUUUUUHHHHHH." Lyrical clangers:

Wow. House of Cards is a wonderful song. You guys are nuts. Bodysnatchers is cool, but the worst on the album IMO.

I dunno. I just think Bodysnatchers is a better song, particularly as a "rock" piece. It progresses, it has hooks, and it has a distinctive beginning, a middle, and an end. House of Cards is a fine song....but I think its success is more in the area of the mood it sets, rather than any compositional greatness. It's a torch song. If that makes any sense.
However, unlike some on the board, I mostly view music as a completely subjective experience. Results may vary. Batteries not included. Some assembly required.
