SOMB Sounds Vol. 2
1. Montana - Winds of the Tooths
Inspired by an extraordinary clear night sky in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness amongst granite cliffs, old pines, and all that is still wild in the universe.
2. st. park - Sea
3. Twilight Revival/Tweed - Killers
Tweed plays guitar and sings in Chicago's Twilight Revival. The song "Killers" is taken from their 2007 self-titled debut.
4. Low Point Alumni/Triple Lindys - The Thick of It
I got tired of writing slow, introspective songs, went ahead and wrote a rocker. Was gunning for Son Volt, didn't quite end up that way.
5. Fox Paws/elastico - Book of All
6. Kinetic Android - Heart Attack
7. theremin - Doom & Gloom
8. Parka Bruthuz UK/Sid Hartha - Cauterize The Cure
Who says that the romance of bloodletting is dead?
9. Pauline York Band/Jimmy TKB - Foolish
"Foolish" was written and performed by Jimmy TKB and the Pauline York Band, and was issued as the second single on their 2007 LP, Get Down and Ride!
10. Creepy D/Seamus, Mr. Inches, Ashy Larry, Wolfden Robes and LA Mat - China High
It was recorded/mixed with four other tracks one night at King Size Sound Labs (on Western), by Dave Trumfio. Fueled by Winstons and High Life.
11. Flexible Products/lazarus - Funky Clavi
12. Butterfly Assassins/charleyscott, clunk, norton('s son) - Silvia II
"Sylvia II is one of the co-title tracks from the upcoming full-length debut by the Butterfly Assassins (due out in January 2008)."
13. Agrimorfee - Right!(?) or Wrong?(!)
This is an epic. Sit tight for about 6 1/2 minutes or so.
14. simakos - The Woods
15. Ghosts of Television/nic - Explosions
16. gleaman - We Almost Survived
17. Undercooked Sausage & Pavement Ist Rad - Judy & The Dream of Horses
"Judy And The Dream Of Horses" is an obscure B-side by talented members of The Mars Volta, Undercooked Sausage recorded the vocals sometime in summer of 2006 and Pavement Ist Rad ended up finishing the song over a year later. A noise masterpeice that reportedly could even made Pre-crisis Superman go deaf.

I might have put Roc-a-Fella at #3 for the year, but damn looking back on it, they had a stellar end to their year. good for them.
and I also forgot Relapse. i don't love metal, but I picked up three different Relapse releases this year, and they were all stellar.
Roc-A-Fella got my #1 vote. Quantity + quality.
