eagerly awaiting Complain's recaps. anybody watch the auditions last night? that Alexis Cohen was disturbing and stupid. that dude with the chest hair, on the other hand, was about as lame and unfunny as a wannabe fratboy could be.

I set it up to record the series but have no idea how involved I'll get this year. It seems I lose more interest with every passing year. And while we're on AI. Glad to see Taylor Hicks get bounced from the label. Here's hoping he hooks up with a good roots based producer and puts out the kind of record he should be making.

The chick from oregon is hot as hell. And, like a bunch of contestants this year, a failed artist being pawned off as a fresh new face. "After much thought into this, I have finally come to a conclusion as to why the ‘Meet the Spartans’ commercial is so funny:

It is an interesting choice to have Sanjaya sing ‘I’m not gay,’ as his final words on earth. As he is plummeting into a seemingly bottomless pit, he does not say ‘dear god no,’ ‘I love you mom,’ or even simply ‘argh.’ He instead takes the moment to reaffirm to the world, in spite of their doubts, that he is not a homosexual. Not only that, but he continues to sing, despite falling to his certain death. The distinct lack of plausibility of this situation is what produces giggles from our mouth. It is the antithesis to the belief that ‘it’s funny because it is true.’

Seacrest was pretty good last night and the stalker song was good. Oh and Willem Dafoe made my lol. All the "good" singers were abominations.

i missed last nites, but have been catching it tonite i like how they've toned down their cruelty i think they learned their lesson last year after making fun of the bigger kid (friends w/ the bush baby faced kid), slowly realized he might be disabled/slow

I'm watching this now and I watched it last night, but it's pretty lame so far. Seacrst is good (is it just me, or does he have a thing for 'older' women?) but overall I mostly wish that I could just convince myself to quit watching.

Can't tell if you're rooting for or against him with that statement, but either way, agreed. Good riddance from the mainstream.

That last dude was w/o question the single greatest performance I've seen on Idol. Better than Hung, better then the stepper guy... the best. I called my brother immediately and started singing "I AM YOUR BROTHER YOUR BEST FRIEND FOREVER". He said "I knew that was coming" and hung up. That shit will be everywhere the next week.

agreed, that ruled.

did anybody think that the weird, potentially menatlly ill, whispery guy singing the bon jovi stuff was pulling their leg? he seemed like some sort of performance artist or something. either that or he really was bat-shit crazy.

They have definitely made a point to not only tone down the meanness towards obviously mal-adjusted/mentally challenged people, but to actually go out of their way to be nice on a few occasions. Defintely in response to the criticism from last year. So far, I've seen at least 5 or 6 people who I recognize from the top 50. And only 2 or 3 of them were specifically highlighted. I saw a couple at least in the brief glimpses we got of others who made it through.

They're gonna have to get down to 24 before I start doing recaps. I'm telling you right now...SOMEONE is going to record that song from last night...you won't be able to get away from it. Dude will sell more records than William Hung ever did. I'm a little tired of most of the "I'm auditioning to get my five minutes on TV" types, though. That Princess Leia wannabe looked like a young Jorja Fox...and not in a good way. I HATE the big build ups, because you know they'll either suck royally or slide right through. Meanwhile, I'm torturing my family with "You are my BROTHER...my best friend FOREVER..."

All my life i wanted to be black.
Until i saw your picture, now i wanna be you.

"LETS GET SOME FUCKING ENERGY UP IN THIS BITCH MOTHERFUCKERS! You are not resigned to a fate of slow, painful death. The world is not as Radiohead and Portishead see it. "Oh the suffering! Oh the suffering, I feel the weight of the world and all it's pain" FUCK YOU......Be the grizzly, tear some shit up, rather than tearing yourself up." -- Montana, 12/21/08
