To recap: When I was in Minneapolis, my son was throwing up everywhere (along with my mom, my sisters, and my niece). My wife and I thought we had been safe, but oh no. Friday night, my wife needed a bucket so she could have diarehha and vomit and the same time. And last night, I threw up so hard that later I wiped my eyes, and my damn tear ducts smelled like puke. Who else has caught this monstrosity?

Had it in the beginning of the year, and it lasted maybe 3 weeks. Later on developed a "staph" infection because of it. A family friend died because of it recently, but she was an elderly woman. Another family friend developed bronchitis. Awful Winter.

I've had a nasty cold since Tuesday that isn't getting remotely better, but that flu thing sounds much much worse.

I had something like that that knocked me on my ass for a couple of weeks at the beginning of the year. Take pepto bismol early and hope for the best.

i'm finally all better, that shit was like death week. everyone in my fucking house got it around the same time. the night i had a 102 fever and alternated between playing guitar hero 3 with my friends and laying in bed shivering when my turn was done was pretty fun (in the loosest way that "fun" can be used i guess).

Apparently this is the strain which the shot doesn't work against, but it's still a good idea.

So on Monday, my wife finally went to the doctor and was diagnosed with bronchitis. I thought I was safe (again), until Friday my throat was sore and I could barely speak. Turns out (after a visit to the doctor on Saturday) that I caught the flu... fucking again! I had the chills so bad on Friday night that I pulled a muscle from being cramped in the fetal position for so long. Yesterday I threw up spittle (which is just as much fun as it sounds). I was supposed to do some comedy tonight, which I don't think will happen because I can't speak. This sucks.

Four people in my 9-person office had the respiratory-type viral flu and were all bedridden for 2-4 days--people who normally come in to work when they're sick. I'm sucking on zinc whenever I feel a cough or congestion coming on (which is how the symptoms begin with this strain).

The gf is all types of sick right now -- some kind of cold/flu respiratory thing. I feel like I've been on the verge of going head first into it for the past few days, but have seemed to (knock on wood) have been able to keep it fairly mild thus far. I attribute this relative success to a spectacular mix of vitamins and beer.

So, I woke up this morning, and my half of the bed (plus my shirt and gym shorts) are covered in sweat. But my throat feels better, I'm not producing nearly as much saliva as I was this weekend, and my voice is almost back to kind of normal. I think I am triumphant, thanks to a shitload of prescribed drugs.

I popped so many Tylenol last week because of a hard fever + hallucinations. That's right, hallucinations. My sinuses are not helping either. I blew my nose so hard, I think I might've lost some hearing in my left ear.
