Highway 97, north of Summerland.

Thought you needed to know.

Those mountain goats don't stand a chance.

As a resident Okanaganer, I know the prevailing feeling on animals round these parts.

When there were too many Canadian Geese sullying the beaches of the rich, the city of Kelowna hired crews to go around and practise 'addling', which, in English, means shake the eggs of the geese until you scramble the babies inside.

Due to an increasing amount of bunny rabbits alongside a busy road, city council are hearing proposals to have the animals destroyed. Reasons cited for the need for such a strong response is that the bunnies burrows might cause structural problems for nearby buildings.

A study recently revelead that over the past ten years, Kelowna has eliminated 75% of its wetlands.

Pack up your bags, mountain goats, you stand in the way of progress.
