Sometimes your response to a record increases favorably based n the time in which it drops.

Frankly, I cant imagine a time recently when Id be more ready for a new B52s record.
Sure, it's a lot like primary-colored kids show fun ( the Yo, the Gabba, the other Gabba), but that's what the world needs right now god dammit.

Its just fun party music.
Let yourself go, bitches.
Let Kate Pierson make you fruug.
Let Fred Schnieder nag you to get stupid on the pixy sticks.

So drop the pretense, and go here : http://letsgogetit.b...nplex-2008.html and nab it.

And before you unsheath the knives, ask youself: "If this was a brand new band that looked like American Apparel clerks, would I judge this differently?"

Glad someone started this thread. I was going to, but it's so typical yancy that I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger. The handful of tracks I've heard have a decent killer/filler ratio. Haven't done the whole album yet. Title track is pretty great. I expect its goofy lyrics and simple rhymes to get slammed by people who don't realize that's kind of mandatory in a B-52's song.

Wild Planet was the third album I actually bought.

I love me some Cosmic Thing.

I will DL this and dig it, and will not, pursuant to Cardagian direction, consider it a "guilty pleasure."

I'm not wholly impressed by the track XRT has been playing. <_< Matter of fact, I would be happy not to hear any post 1985-B-52s track ever again.

I've got the yellow album here. red one, too. Think I'll listen to those instead of dl'ing the new one, as good (or not) as the new one may be.

Bought the first B-52s record a couple weeks ago, and was pleasantly surprised with it. It took me all this time to get hooked, but now I gotta find a bunch more albums. I doubt anything will top Dance This Mess Around but I'm more than willing to give it a shot. Any recommendations, or am I going into this blind?

Rocko's Modern Life! ROCKO'S MODERN LIFE! It had to be done. Iffy to listen, I hope I like it as I do their others.

I look forward to cranking it over the weekend. Hey GDB, had no idea you were working at Sirius. Ever run into Kid Leo at the Garage?

As far as I'm concerned, the B-52's were all about the original guitarist's sound, and they haven't been the same since he died.

I was blasting this in the car on the way home today and really into it until about halfway through. the first half was good enough to warrant many more chances and to forgive the second half if it doesn't hold up to the first. The first few songs stand up to their early work, which is a high standard IMHO.

Links dead, anyone got a working one? I thought the single was pretty catchy. I try to catch their show whenever they tour near me, they are a hell of a lot of fun. Nevermind found a new link hxxp://link-protector.com/448556
