The rumor that Stuart Price will be producing The Killers' third album was finally confirmed by Brandon Flowers in an interview with British music mag NME this week. The collaboration between Madonna's favorite DJ/producer and the Las Vegas foursome has been the subject of speculation ever since Price hinted about a potential partnership when he appeared on Pete Tong's BBC radio show late 2007.

"Its Stuart Price," Brandon finally reveals in NME. "We learned a lot from him without even meeting him because of what he did to 'Mr Brightside.' Hes very musical. People talk about using the recording gear as an instrument and making it sing and hes really able when it comes to that. Hes able to give us sounds we want and give us sounds weve never hear. Its really inspiring."

The group is currently writing songs at home in Las Vegas and will go into the studio with Price in London this June. They will be playing some of their new tracks at British music festivals later this year, including the Reading Music Festival in August. Price has a busy studio schedule this year. He is currently in Berlin putting the final touches on Keane's new record.

This has got me pretty excited considering their best songs are JLC remixes & vice versa. Probably my most anticipated release for later this year.

that's cool. now if only they could write some decent songs ("somebody told me" and "mr brightside" stand out like sore thumbs in their catalogue), brandon could learn to sing in key and on tune, and they learn how to put on an entertaining show they'll be well on their way to only being mediocre instead of just plain old shit.

Yeah, i'm not big on The Killers either. I only like the two remixes I posted & "read my mind". Just thought this could be a potentially great pairing, that's all. I'm a Price fanboy though.

Yeah, they should have done this two or three years ago. Could still yield good results, though.

I've had little problem with The Killers thus far and don't see where certain songs are hideous and horrifying like critics said with the last album. They have songs that are far better than other ones but the suck and blow part I don't agree with. Though the first five songs of the first album are their best ones.
