I was there for about 5 1/2 hours yesterday, and barely scratched the surface, missing about 1/2 of Art Chicago and all of the Antiques Fair. My advice for time management is to head straight for the eighth floor, and do The Artist Project and Intuit show galleries. There seemed to be a bigger bang and hit/miss ratio. Also, a lot of local artists and more affordable pieces (meaning less than $500). The NEXT galleries on the seventh floor were also a big hit.
Some highlights:
Seeing original pieces from "autistic savant" Gregory Blackstock in the Garde-Rail gallery at the Intuit show. I have this book, and like it lots:

Also at Intuit, Lindsay Gallery with Bill Miller and Harry Underwood.
How have I missed Checkered House before? Especially Theresa Disney and Tres Taylor.
For the Artist Project galleries, I'm sure some of you know of and have heard of
Deborah Maris Lader
Gabe Lanza
Anastasia Mak
Zsofia Otvos
Guillermo Munro

The music lovers here may be taken with the collage of painting and manipulated vinyl of Katherine Kisa:

Most amazing thing I saw at Forum Gallery in Art Chicago, not this work, but something similar, the photo-realism movie theater painting of Davis Cone:

Sven Kroner:

Gabe Lanza's page has a link to a free pass if anyone's interested:

I'm really bummed to be missing it.

Thanks for the free pass link. I am going to try to check this out tomorrow. Thanks for reminding me about Davis Cone's stuff... unreal. I saw one in person and stared at it for probably 10 minutes.
