They should do what Working For A Nuclear City did and release the entire discography as one release.

"Let's Talk About It"

Wow this is a terrible recording. Thoroughly unlistenable.

Agreed. But the production & mix on that song are nonexistent or purposely terrible. You guys enjoy, rock out, etc. I'll be over here listening to music made by people who give a shit.

Why two different albums for two different countries? How can 'Let's Talk About It' NOT be on the US release?!?

And maybe this will help answer your question about the the two releases. White Denim are still without a label. All of their EPs have been self-released in limited numbers throughout the US, though digital copies can be picked up at iTunes. There's no need for them to include "Let's Talk About It" since it's already been released in the US. However, as for EU listeners, the Workout Holiday LP will be the first time they can get their hands on a physical copy of the first two EPs. I think that's why the EU LP is more of a compilation.

This makes sense and all, but it still seems like a major oversight to not include "Let's Talk About It" on the US release. Especially since the band is just starting to gain widespread exposure, this debut LP will likely be an introduction of sorts (regardless of the earlier EPs). The buzz around "Let's Talk About It" has been so positive that it doesnt really make sense to make listeners go back and listen to the EPs to hear it, when the album will likely be the first thing they pick up. The track kills; it should be on Exposion. Maybe as a bonus track even..

While I don't think it's their best song, I do agree that "Let's Talk About It" is a damn good one - but so are all the other songs on the Let's Talk About It EP. Why is searching through the back catalog such a bad thing? The White Stripes arguably had an amazing couple of albums that flew under the radar until the release of White Blood Cells, which featured none of their earlier songs on it. I guess that I think most people who discover White Denim will purchase their stuff at iTunes anyway since they make their vinyls in such small quantities - it shouldn't be a problem to get a hold of "Let's Talk About It" whether it's on Exposion or not. It's just my opinion I guess.

IMO Mess Your Hair Up is their best recorded track, followed by Goldie Locks or the demo version of Shake Shake Shake. I saw them open for Ghostland Observatory at a dive bar in Austin in 2006, and their live show has gotten progressively better since then. Good enough for the Austin City Limits Music Festival, obviously.

It's generally regarded though that the V2 releases are the Stripes's best work.

It's not a bad thing to search through a band's back catalog, but if you have a great song (IMO, the catchiest thing they've done), why make fans search it out? At this point in the world of music, you NEED good songs to get noticed, plus you need to make them available the easiest way possible. Hiding it on an itunes EP (at a shitty bitrate with DRM, also) and ignoring it for the hugely important debut album (which ultimately will be the critical point where people decide if they're any good enough to buy further material from them), is a head-scratcher.

I have 11 Songs, the spring tour cd from this year. Is Exposion the exact album? Is there anything else by them I should have? I LOVE 11 Songs, All You Really Have to Do and Heart From All of Us are incredible and very different songs. You'd never guess the same band recorded those two songs in particular.

it's in the first post in this thread. At the time, it was just a tour CD, I guess. But now it's the official album. And the tracklist is on their website. Yeah
