So what's the deal...the main songwriter killed himself after New Miserable Experience and that's why the band has sucked since then?

I'd consider going if it wasn't twenty-five bucks. I walked out on a free GB show at one of the northwest suburban street fests last fall. I don't blame the band, though. Sound system couldn't stand up to the location/wind, mix was shrill/terrible, and one of the guitarists was out of tune, which I suspect was due to not being able to hear himself. They were great at a similar fest in Bartlett a few years ago. These guys are married to the 'burbs.Thinking about going to see them tomorrow night at John Barleycorn in Schaumburg.

you kidding me, Slackerman? "Lost Horizons" is better than all but two, maybe only one of those.

Word.
This is a great, great, great power pop record.
Unfortunately it helped open the floodgates for every bland Dishwalla and Deep Blue Something out there and unfortunately suffers through association.

"After much thought into this, I have finally come to a conclusion as to why the ‘Meet the Spartans’ commercial is so funny:
It is an interesting choice to have Sanjaya sing ‘I’m not gay,’ as his final words on earth. As he is plummeting into a seemingly bottomless pit, he does not say ‘dear god no,’ ‘I love you mom,’ or even simply ‘argh.’ He instead takes the moment to reaffirm to the world, in spite of their doubts, that he is not a homosexual. Not only that, but he continues to sing, despite falling to his certain death. The distinct lack of plausibility of this situation is what produces giggles from our mouth. It is the antithesis to the belief that ‘it’s funny because it is true.’"

I'm including "Mrs. Rita." Hell, I'm even including "Until I Fall Away" to get to six. ("Hey Jealousy," "Allison Road," "Pieces of the Night," and "Found Out About You" making up the rest of the six.)
Come to think of it, what's your seventh?

oh yeah, I'd put "Hold Me Down" over "Pieces of the Night".
