Every Sunday morning I wake up
I see you by your dresser doing your make-up
Fluttering a Chinese fan in a Knoxville fashion
All last night you tossed and turned
Your body was hotter than the night Richmond burned
You say you had a bad nightmare about tractor trailers crashing

unusually poppy run for the last 10, even for me:

Landslide Baby, Beulah
'cause you're scared and you're weak and you DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT ME

Crimes On Paper, Self
so maybe somewhere someone's jotting this down / so in a million years from now if it's still around / they can wonder who we were / wonder what we did, who we knew

Anywhere You Are, The Smithereens
that 60's vibraphone thing in this song still flattens me

Juicebox, The Strokes
becomes more essential with every spin

Thomas Doubter, Scruffy The Cat
damn i forgot how much i loved these guys way back when

Treat Yourself With Kindness, Clearlake
still one of my top 10 songs ever

You're So Damn Hot, OK Go
you don't love me at all / but don't think that it bothers me at all /
you're a bad-hearted boy trap, babydoll, but you're / you're so damn hot

I'm A Fool, Letters To Cleo
god bless Kay Hanley

Pretty (Ugly Before), Elliott Smith
tremendous song.

She Cuts Her Own Fringe, The Uncle Devil Show
this would've been a classic pop album if they'd let Currie sing everything

Nice list. It is rather poppy, but still quite good. Your commentary is interesting.

the Last Resort - the Eagles from Hotel California. This is the album closer and easily one of my favorite tracks ever. Great musicianship and vocal work.

Morning Bell - Radiohead from Kid A. You really can't go wrong with any song from Kid A.

Perfect Sense Part 1 - Roger Waters from Amused to Death. Excellent transition from Morning Bell. Amused to death is IMHO the best post Floyd work, period.

"The monkey looked up at the stars
And thought to himself
Memory is a stranger
History is for fools
And he cleaned his hands
In a pool of holy writing
Turned his back on the garden
And set out for the nearest town
Hold on hold on soldier
When you add it all up
The tears and the marrowbone
There's an ounce of gold
And an ounce of pride in each ledger
And the Germans killed the Jews
And the Jews killed the Arabs
And the Arabs killed the hostages
And that is the news
And is it any wonder
That the monkey's confused"

People are Strange - The Doors from Strange Days. That wierd cabaret/rock/jazz Doors sound is why I still listen to these guys. The producton was also quite beatiful.

Us and Them - Pink Floyd from the Live at Wemlbey 1974 bootleg. I don't need to say much about this work of genius.

Kanon - Enon from Lost Marbles and Exploded Evidence. Jazzy/indie/electronic stuff with a cool ambience and seducing vocals

Rosebud - Ryan Adams from Cold Roses adult contemporary cheeze

Letter From Africa - Mark Olson from My Own Jo Ellen wierd funky alt.country/gospel number, with a meandering melody. I always regarded Olson as the Syd Barret of alt.counry -aloof and all over the place, but geniusely coming back to the melody you thought was gone

Visiting Friends - Animal Collective from Sung Tongs. fucked up noise pop

You and Voodoo - Three Missouri from Voodorama. weird kind of blues/country/drum machine mix.
