The arguements aren't arguements. They're variations of "Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better": A: Man, this music is the shit B: Man, this music sucks A: Man, this music is so much better than your music B: Man, this music sucks so hard that it's ripped off your dick a the groin A: Man, least I have a dick (Repeat as necessary) However, this territory has already been mapped and explored:

it's not the arguments that make the music discussion around here so shitty. it's everyone's horrible taste.

I like to think that I am the boarder who spices things up now and then here with my stupid trivia theme lists.

Music forum would be better if more people made posts other than in the pages that are hundreds of posts long anyway. (I do this but hope I make up for it elsewhere.) Let's talk about this
Nice bowl of Crunchy Nut you got here, pretty expensive as I recall.

Too many youtube posts. I'm not stopping my music to play everyone's embedded clips.

So you rather download an MP3 and not listen to it?

Me?

I'd rather people use the board to talk about albums rather that a music pirating free-for-all.

No, that was for Undo. I have no problems with YouTubes in thread as long as it isn't hundreds on a page. I do have a problem with people posting the same clips multiple times for no reason. There does to be a malaise on the music forum with people seeming to be exhausted by new music and not really making the time to try stuff.

The halcyon days were in '06 when we had those huge assignments of ranking singles and albums in split decades. But, that's been done.

I'd talk about music in the music forum if it weren't for the fact I don't give a shit about convincing anyone about anything. If it comes up, I''ll comment. Otherwise, trivial bullshit is good enough for the workday.

I like downloading tracks and then getting around to them in the following minutes or later in the day. With Youtube links, I just feel like I'm held hostage to the page that they're embedded on. The "don't ask what this is, just drop everything you're doing and watch this" vibe I get from so many youtube clip threads has just gotten old over time. My annoyance with this probably has more to do with my own computer's quirks -- slow, constipated uploading of video, a tendency to stutter and stop unless I move my cursor over it, refusing to play any audio of a video stream at all if I minimize it -- and are issues I should try to fix rather than bitch about, but I've found it easier just to avoid them altogether in most cases.

And without indicating who or what it is specifically, and why I should bother clicking on it. (Hi Deej!)
