Seriously, jogging along the lakefront is no fun. That's just not what I want to smell! It's all over the city. I remember it in Logan Square. All over. Horrible. Daley needs to get with it and get some tree fumigators, something, anything...

I live in a town near the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. A couple of summers ago a warehouse that stores frozen food had it's cooling units die in the middle of summer and something like 10 tons of frozen fish bait thawed out and started rotting. I live about 1/2 a mile away and you have no idea of the smell.

I know the trees you speak of. Early on they smell like sperm, and later like moldy salami casings. Fortunately their time of bloom is brief.

Ginko trees maybe? They have a strong smell. Nothing will take precedence over the cicadas decomposing last summer

No joke you guys - no sooner did I post this thread here, someone on a graphic design forum I'm on often started the SAME EXACT thread, but titled "Jizz Trees." It was determined that the Bradford Pear tree is to blame.

I picture Gary and Chicago having a fight over the town Jizz tree, a la Springfield's/Shelbyville's Lemon tree.

Can trees even grow in Gary anymore? I imagine they'd probably welcome the addition of a jizz tree to cut through the sulfur smell.

Several kinds of pear blossoms smell like jizz. But nothing compares to the Gingko vomit balls.

Those things are everywhere. I remember hanging out in early college with some high school girls and having a conversation about these trees. "So wait..what do they smell like?" "uh, they smell exactly like cum." "oh..yeah,huh". I just smelled these things for the first time a week or so ago. I thought I forgot to do the laundry.
