Being that I am excited for this flick -- and I am rarely excited for any flick these days -- and also that it releases this upcoming Friday, I am starting this thread. Cuz WALL-E is gonna be the shit, for sure. Discuss.

Don't know a thing about it, other than it's about a robot or something. Obviously you're looking forward to it more than me. On the other hand, I'm all about the new Futurama movie out on DVD tomorrow!
"The public are collectively fucking retarded." - tylerdurden74 "The world is filled with people who are no longer needed - and who try to make slaves of all of us - and they have their music and we have ours - theirs, the wasted songs of a superstitious nightmare - and without their musical and ideological miscarriages to compare our song of freedom to, we'd not have any opposite to compare music with - and like the drifting wind, hitting against no obstacle, we'd never know it's speed, it's power..." I saw the preview for this when I saw Kung Fu Panda and flipped a shit, it was so cute. This is a slippery slope.

someone told me the first half hour or so is void of dialogue that's pretty awesome but also pretty risky for a kids movie whatever, i'm pretty sure i really want to see this but will end up not seeing this because that's how i function with motion pictures

Awesome. I love silent comedy, and the best WB cartoons were mostly visual, not dialogue driven, so I'm TOTALLY looking forward to this.

Last summer was the f-ing pits, but this summer's looking better wth this, Iron Man, Dark Knight and Hellboy.

I know practically nothing about this movie, but am looking forward to it anyway. Pixar doesn't tend to let me down.

Not only that, but it's almost pure "science fiction" says Roeper & Phillips on Ebert & Roeper. I take that to mean "science fiction a la 2001: A Space Odysssey". They raved about the movie as a new Pixar classic.

Without a doubt, this has been my most anticipated movie of 2008, and it has been for a while. The previews look amazing. Cannot wait.

Hmmm, perhaps. Both my little ones love the long intro's to the Ice Age movies. (again, devoid of the verbal/dialogue).

Looks pretty funny. I too am looking forward to this movie. But then again, cautious with my opinion as I did think Cloverfield was the coolest movie in a long time.

My gf can't understand why I'm stoked for this movie. I can't understand why she's not. I'll make her go with me, though. It looks awesome.

Could possibly be the greatest movie ever made. When Wall-E uses the fire extinguisher in the preview, I could literally feel my heart being stolen. Most anticipated move since P.T. Anderson had Day-Lewis chew the scenery like a rabid dog in the TWbB trailer.

definitely going to be the best movie of the year. I highly doubt it will be Ratatouille, but that is my movie of the decade, and seems almost ready to eclipse The Lion King as the best animated movie ever. I don't care if I have to see this alone, I am so there on Friday.

Hmm. Much as I loved Ratatouille, it didn't sustain it's absolute joy somewhat on repeated viewings, for me. Best animated feature ever, in your book? Ever see any of the Miyazaki films?

Anyhow: the Brad Bird fan that I am aside, I can certainly see this as a potential Best Pixar Flick ever. But I've a love for sci-fi in the first place.

Also, though I don't always put much weight in Mr. Harry Knowles' hyperbole, he did stir further excitement when he posted:

"Hey folks, Harry here... I can't tell you about arguably the best film Walt Disney has ever had its name on - and I certainly can't go into how it is one of the absolute best hard science fiction films made in my adult life - and I won't be able to go on and on about how it's an incredible work of speculative future mythology the likes of which, I've never seen... whilst also being wildly entertaining and thought-provoking to literally all ages. I can't go into any of that, because I am under Embargo till the day of release."

But if the film touches the above bolded, I'll be satisfied.

Until Wall-E is released, Ratatouille remains the best Pixar film. It was a phenomenal work.
