someone told me the first half hour or so is void of dialogue
that's pretty awesome but also pretty risky for a kids movie
whatever, i'm pretty sure i really want to see this but will end up not seeing this because that's how i function with motion pictures
Not only that, but it's almost pure "science fiction" says Roeper & Phillips on Ebert & Roeper. I take that to mean "science fiction a la 2001: A Space Odysssey". They raved about the movie as a new Pixar classic.

Hmmm, perhaps. Both my little ones love the long intro's to the Ice Age movies. (again, devoid of the verbal/dialogue).
Looks pretty funny. I too am looking forward to this movie. But then again, cautious with my opinion as I did think Cloverfield was the coolest movie in a long time.

Someone should teach those kids to fish.

Anyhow: the Brad Bird fan that I am aside, I can certainly see this as a potential Best Pixar Flick ever. But I've a love for sci-fi in the first place.
Also, though I don't always put much weight in Mr. Harry Knowles' hyperbole, he did stir further excitement when he posted:
"Hey folks, Harry here... I can't tell you about arguably the best film Walt Disney has ever had its name on - and I certainly can't go into how it is one of the absolute best hard science fiction films made in my adult life - and I won't be able to go on and on about how it's an incredible work of speculative future mythology the likes of which, I've never seen... whilst also being wildly entertaining and thought-provoking to literally all ages. I can't go into any of that, because I am under Embargo till the day of release."
But if the film touches the above bolded, I'll be satisfied.
