Just in case this is a serious question, no.Do I have to vote for AC/DC twice? I am assuming yes: and same with Van Halen.

Some people are a lot like slinkys... kinda useless, not really good for anything -but still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs

"After much thought into this, I have finally come to a conclusion as to why the ‘Meet the Spartans’ commercial is so funny:
It is an interesting choice to have Sanjaya sing ‘I’m not gay,’ as his final words on earth. As he is plummeting into a seemingly bottomless pit, he does not say ‘dear god no,’ ‘I love you mom,’ or even simply ‘argh.’ He instead takes the moment to reaffirm to the world, in spite of their doubts, that he is not a homosexual. Not only that, but he continues to sing, despite falling to his certain death. The distinct lack of plausibility of this situation is what produces giggles from our mouth. It is the antithesis to the belief that ‘it’s funny because it is true.’"

If I loved Zeppelin in HS, but hate them now: should I rank them lower on the list or try to weigh my initial love for them? Hope this is not nitpicking...
Was this answered in the thread? I'm curious as well. How heavy should the nostalgia factor weigh in on a list...or is this a current favorites thing.

I think you should just list your favorites now. Not who you think should be ranked, or who you might have ranked 10 years ago.
though it wouldn't officially be my 'favorite artists of all time' list as the thread title implies, I agree with your strategy

one shouldn't make their list based only who they think the "Best" artists are, and instead focus on the ones that bring them the most joy.

If The Rolling Stones make the top 5 I will consider quitting the board.
Promise?

36.) Phil Spector
Did he put anything out as an "artist." I mean I know that occasionally he's been featured in album titles, but isn't he always really just a producer? If so, does Rick Rubin qualify? Doesn't seem right.
