On your bed and thinking about the ladies?
Nice bowl of Crunchy Nut you got here, pretty expensive as I recall.

You've gone a stolen one of the better perks of Americana. Give it back.

Yeah, tea always ups the British ante. Now I can imagine you saying "quite, quite" in response to some Dylan observation about dames.

You're right though, a lot of Dylan songs have a wonderful, classical romantic feeling to them. Even when they're not about dames. Good thinking music. Even better road music.

:P Funny you should post that, I just caught this while flipping through Dero's Kill Your Idols:

"As I write this, the downstairs neighbor in my Chicago three-flat—one of the seventy-two million members of Generation Y, the second-largest generation in American history, and the Baby Boomers’ snot-nosed progeny—is once again playing The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan at ear-shattering, floor-rattling volume. He does this two or three times a day, every day, and has ever since I moved in six months ago. [...] while I once loved this album, I am now at the point where I never want to hear it again. When I asked this fellow about his fascination with this disc, he responded with the question, 'What else is there to listen to?' He can’t fathom the idea that there’s ever been another album worthy of his time or that there’s been any worthwhile music made at all since 1962, which is approximately two decades before he was born. He’s an extreme case, and I pity him: He’s in his early twenties, and his life is already over. In fact, it never even began, at least not in terms of experiencing great art made in the moment—his moment, instead of his parents’."

For the record, I do indeed love this album, but it's rarely prompted any thoughts of girls...unless it's someone that really pissed me off, in which case "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" works perfectly.

Something that immediately jumps to my mind as being better: Listening to the CD version. That way, I DON'T HAVE GET THE FUCK OFF MY BED & TURN THE THING OVER.

Hardly. I'm one of those dudes that have embraced technology.

After A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall, it's probably a good idea to get up, walk around a little.

I empathize with Nick's devotion to our culture's preeminent dead technology, the compact disc.

I actually have this album on CD as well as vinyl, and find the CD is pitiful sounding by comparison. Dull, muffled. I've read that the remaster is much better, but is also digitally remixed and more "modern" sounding (translation: LOUD and extremely bright). I can't imagine what benefit there is to the 5.1 surround mix. It's just Bob, his guitar and some harp - right?

I believe this one's only 2 channel SACD. Think there's only like 3 in the SACD series that use 5.1 Not at home to check and don't feel like investigating on line.
Bottom line and no denying, SACD's do sound pretty damn good.

My advice to anyone in the market for this: get the Sundazed vinyl reissue. It's a true mono cut, from the original analog LP master - no funny business. It sounds toasty. and it's probably cheaper than any other version available
