I don't get it. What's the motivation? I say, just pick one name and fucking stick with it. If you absolutely have to change it, make it some variation of the original. Better yet, if you're feeling like you need a change of pace just slap on a new avatar. Oh yeah, and as long as I'm having an old man rant: please stop using abreviations for artists/albums without ever fully identifying them in the original post. Abbreviations are fine, but do us the courtesy and let us know what your talking about. I'm glad your favorite album from 1996 is agqs, but I'm not hip enough to know what that is.

It's the same reason most of the favorite music here is instant gratification. Attention span issues.
Every Sunday morning I wake up
I see you by your dresser doing your make-up
Fluttering a Chinese fan in a Knoxville fashion
All last night you tossed and turned
Your body was hotter than the night Richmond burned
You say you had a bad nightmare about tractor trailers crashing

They are still trying to define their forum persona. Foolishly, they believe a name change will help. It doesn't.

Is it that much fun? You've never done it (that I know of).

To the extent that having an online identity is fun to begin with, sure, I could imagine people enjoying toying with it.

I've never understood this at all. Interesting that noone who changes their name has replied in here. I'd love to hear why they do this.

I've changed it twicw but find myself satisfied with the current version. Initially it was to fool around with the new option. Only it turned out that it wasn't exactly something you could take back. Now its merely to go with something that isn't posting under my actual name although I realize some folks are aware of it and often refer to me that way.

Ok, I can comprehend revenge. But I just checked your history, and you had like 6 or 7 names before that. So what is it, fun, boredom, something else. I'm just curious.

I made the mistake of thinking "numpties" would be an amusing word to me for more than two seconds. It wasn't. But I haven't posted enough for it to matter anyway.

So is Pinkerton now Pink? I'm honestly not sure. Held's second sentence gave me a headache.

Yeah, seriously. Madrox has officially eroded Pink's brand identity.

Anyone who changes their name, especially if they change their avatar along with it, basically guarantee's that I'll never figure out who they were. I don't have the time to keep track of these things. Every now and then I see someone with a strange name but several thousand posts and I take a moment to mourn the loss of name recognition.
