This was so awesome. Best comic book movie of the year so far. Hopefully it makes enough money to get a third one made.

If they don't get to it until after Del Toro is done with the Hobbit movies Perlman will be at least 62 years old. Not that age is gonna slow him down.

Trying to make time to see this. The first one is completely and totally underrated.

I have the Director's Cut of the first film, and I enjoy it quite a bit. In my book, del Toro pretty much can do no wrong. And ditto on the no interest in comic book films, but this one and The Dark Knight still have me very interested. I prefer to think of Hellboy as fantasy/science fiction more than a super hero story. Hoping to catch this either tomorrow or Monday.

There's a 30 second recap of hellboys origin and stuff. You don't really get any knowledge of the other characters tho. I'd definitely recommend watching the first one. We watched it again on wednesday.

best movie of the summer so far, in a summer that's been so fucking excellent already. i saw this with my girl last night and we both walked out stunned. maybe it was the joint that we smoked beforehand, but i was speechless. all i wanted was to see it again. and again. this fucking movie. i swear.

i don't even know where to begin. was it the humor? the icky parts (the tooth faeries?)? the fact that it had way better kills than the newest indiana jones? the elemental scene? johann krauss? the drunken sing-a-long?

my only complaint here, is that the movie wasn't long enough. i want a director's cut of this mother (but i'm 'fraid that this is the director's cut). fuck the hobbit, bring me hellboy three...

i loved the "cunt" reference that was on the marquee of the movie theatre when they were out in the streets. this is when Hellboy and the rest of the team were setting up the cameras. that and the ending. was he shocked.
I fully support people doing drugs on the streets. I'm sick and tired of people being selfish by doing drugs in the privacy of their own homes. Do it on the streets where you can share with your friends and neighbors. It's the Christian thing to do.

I think Del Toro is phenominal. Ever since I saw Cronos many moons ago, I knew this was a guy to watch. But why is it that is Spanish Speaking films (Pan's Labrynth, The Devil's Backbone and Cronos) are so much superior to his English speaking films (Hellboys, Blade II, Mimic). Not that they are bad films but the quality is not up to the Spanish speaking ones. It's almost as if he decided "Lets make an ok movie that mass audiences will go to so I can make money then make the movie I want." Not a bad way to do it but I want to see a superior English Speaking Del Toro film because I feel he is selling himself short. On a side note - if you people like Del Toro I would highly reccomend Spanish Director Alex De Iglesia.

The points I would agree with you is that the Hellboy's are a step WAY above the other english films and that pt 2 is better than pt 1.

Wow. I never read the comics. I barely remember the first film. I remember thinking it was fine, but nothing terribly exciting. But this is really, really, good. The action sequences are great, the humor is well placed and succeeds, and the effects are very good. There is a lot of imagination going on here, and I recommend it even to those who aren't big fans of comic book flicks.

What a ride that was. The forest god, the Golden Army, the tumor, the troll market, Krauss, the Tecate. Total package for a summer flick. Del Toro is a madman.

not where i saw it. several times the camera fully showed it in the street scenes and it clearly said "See You Next Tuesday". i wonder if that was an exclusive for los angeles viewers (there's a local popular DJ who likes to say it). i don't know...anybody else have a wednesday?

It was Wedesday. I perused a thread on a pretty large movie website that was searching the film and tabbing Easter Eggs. This one came up a lot, and nobody referenced Tuesday.

Saw it today, pretty good flick. Moments of greatness, but overall, I wasn't (stupid me) as wowed as I'd hoped to be. That said, I still liked it quite a bit. I'm already wondering if there's a preferred director's cut lying around like with the first film.
