I wouldn't expect a pitiful bowl game. Any bowl game would be a victory this year. When was the last time they didn't play in a bowl? The early 80s? The late 60s?
1983...
But c'mon if michigan university isnt in a bowl game that is highly regarded than it is a bad year. In my opinion Michigan would have better fit in the Rose Bowl last year than USC. But I did love seeing Michgan take out Florida, take that SEC!

Sadly, I don't think we can expect too much. An upset of OSU would make the .500 record and possible lack of bowl game palatable...
To piggy back off this. Do you think an OSU upset is possible? And...how do you think OSU's season will go?

Softest schedule for ND in over a decade in 2008.
They get historical powderpuffs like San Diego State, Stanford, Syracuse, Washington, and Navy.
Michigan State, Pittsburgh and North Carolina aren't bad, but are hardly BCS caliber.
Michigan, Purdue, and Boston College are all expected to have down/rebuilding years.
7 wins doesn't seem all that unrealistic with such a weak schedule. I just listed 11 opponents of which zero, count 'em....zero are ranked in Scout.com's top 20 preseason preview. That's pretty damn weak.

I'm hearing that the players are not taking to Rich Rodriguez. In fact, he's supposedly come in & done some Bo Schembechler type "those that stay will be champions" shit & people are not staying.
Wow, I haven't heard any of that, interesting information. It reminds me of the the Junction Boys movie, it worked then but this is a different era in sports. But I am going to wait for the season to make any sort of opinion on Rich, he did a great job with West Virginia so hopefully he can continue with his sucess at the U of M.
And on the over under for teams this year I am surprised by Illinois. Notre Dame could get 7 wins but I don't think that they will deserve a bowl game. But Illinois had a great year last year, which ended with absolute destruction from the powerful USC. I don't know who they have lost besides Mendenhall but I don't think it is any "top notch" players. I can't see them going from 2nd in the Big Ten to barely above .500.
