Alicia Keys and the White Stripes' Jack White will record the theme song to "Quantum of Solace," the 22nd James Bond film, which hits U.S. theaters Nov. 7.
The song, "Another Way To Die," will be the first duet in Bond soundtrack history. White wrote and produced the song, and also will play drums. The soundtrack to the movie will be released Oct. 28.

he comes across as someone who would hate someone like her, doesnt he hate modern black music or something? anyway, mid life crisis 1st coke now bond, indie is losing even more credibilty.
First of all, Jack White is now as indie as REM or U2. Second, I'm not that familiar with Alicia Keys' music, but isn't she copping a throwback vibe to the days of early-70s Stevie Wonder, a la funky singer-songwriter? Would seem like that's right up Jack's alley. Maybe not the specific reference point, but he's all about channeling old music into modern records. So I could see him, maybe not digging Alicia Keys but respecting the fact that she plays an instrument, writes music (though she gets the plagiarism tag a lot), and has made her fame through music rather than wearing ass skirts and getting her boobs out. I'd bet Jack likes Erykah Badu too.
It's not like he's hooking up with Kylie or Rihanna. If that were the case, I'd see your point.
Nobody knows I'm new wave

i'm actually looking 4ward to it. i rate both artists. i'm just going off the few interviews or comments he used to make a couple years back. saying that, alicia is a artificially created as can b 4 someone who plays a piano. i still like some of her stuff though. just thought jack might see her as "not real"

Yeah. Mr. White, I want you to sit down and listen to "Portland" off Loretta Lynn's Van Lear Rose, or "I Wanna Be the Boy to Warm Your Mother's Heart" or "Ball and Biscuit" from Elephant and then for comparison listen to almost any song Led Zeppeln ever recorded.
Maybe I'm crazy, or maybe you're clueless, but these sound to me like Zeppelin songs, right down to that Page guitar tone. You oughta be flattered, Mr. White. Page ws a fucking master.
White reminds me of Pery Farrell and even Bowie, in the sense that he just makes it up as he goes along when talking to the press. You can't give too much credence to anything that comes out of his mouth.

As far as this Bond theme goes, we shall see how it sounds. I don't really have any expectations.

I'm sure they'll throw that Duffy theme over the end credits. Or maybe onto the soundtrack as an iTunes exclusive!
