that's where that is from... it's been killing me trying to place those lines. The Gaslight Anthem's "High Lonesome", from the new album that a few of us have been digging on in another thread, has a couple of good ones - the chorus references the Counting Crows:
"Maria came from Nashville with a suitcase in her hand -
I always kinda sorta wished I looked like Elvis"

nothing wanky going on here...Strange to see Pitchfork endorse such wanky Springsteen fanboyism (again).

nope. textbook rock music 101, but pulled off incredibly wellnothing wanky going on here...Strange to see Pitchfork endorse such wanky Springsteen fanboyism (again).
yeah, surprised/shocked me as well. before it was re-released on a larger label even.Aside from Breihan's boner it strikes me as something that they might take to bits normally.
that is sort of surprising actually. Against Me! seem to have a decent amount of crossover audience from my experience.weird that they're giving this an 8.6 and wouldn't even review Against Me!

Oh I quite like the record, the issue for me is that I don't masturbate to "Thunder Road" ever night.
You should really give it a try. It's a life-changing experience.
