I am not much of a TV viewer but SOMB, lemme tell you.... This show is a flippin crrrack up!

I have seen some of the wackiest people & best crashes since being 11yrs old, watching NFL football follies.

Anybody else watch this summertime sleeper?

You've never watched MXC? I'll check it out, but without Kenny Blankenship it won't be the same.
There's nothing I wouldn't do, including doing nothing.

This is basically just like the Japanese Game Show "Takeshi's Castle". It's pretty good, but not nearly as strange.

As much as I do love MXC, this Wipeout show is surprisingly pretty funny. But Asian voice-overs mixed with extreme 'sports' is too killer of a combo.
Yeah well, that's just, ya know, like, your opinion, man.

The king of this type of post is Slackmo.

I absolutely refuse to believe that show isn't 100% scripted.

Why would you think that? Do you think it's that difficult to let the people play the game and write jokes later?

Not at all. It's definitely simple enough for the writers to write jokes after filming. But I just finished the first episode and not one single contestant even seemed to be 'real.' Compared to every other physical/sports game show, the contestants on this show just seemed (acted) as ridiculously foolish as possible. Even though a good deal of contestants on other shows make a fool of themselves (whether its purposely or not), the people on Wipeout really make it horribly obvious. However, scripted or not, this show is pretty funny.

I liked the Asian voiceovers better, but this is a good family-style show we and our kids enjoy watching together. And it beats listening to Tom Bergeron or (especially) Bob Saget.

Do they also try to include talking head/interview segments ("I was really nervous before I stepped up to the platform, but my team has been sooo supportive, and I knew I had to give it my best!") and candid behind-the-scenes footage like they do on the potentially good but ultimately creepy and predictable I Survived a Japanese Game Show?

I'm surprised the prime time Price is Right hasn't started doing that, doesn't every show now?

one of the funny points about the show. The "cute as a bug Alaskan girl who had never been kissed before" was an absolute riot. The tele-script text when she shouts "Where's the pole!?!?!" made me tinkle in my boxers... so funny.
Also, the cool black dude with dreads who does the splits on "the big balls"....OMG!

this was one of my favorites:
"Hey ap, you're kindo a fuckhead at times on the board. your avatars...wth? but, after reading your posts a little more (sadly than usual) i realized that you are one of the funnier boarders, grt sense of humor. you seriously have ADD. i can actually see prolly liking you in person but sometimes you're too unpredictable and mean."
