I have two pairs of khaki pants. They are pretty casual, but not cargo pants or anything. I don't know what to wear with them. I usually just wear a pair of jeans with a rock and roll tee shirt, but at age 21, I have decided I need to expand my wardrobe beyond just that. At the same time, I don't want to look like a hipster doofus. Help, plz.

A well fitted polo shirt and a decent one.

Something that fits really well. Nothing more drab than a dude in khakis and a stupid frumpy shirt. Don't wear a polo unless you want to look like my dad or unless the fashion world has done something wild with the polo that I don't know about. I would say a button down, sleeves rolled up part way. I think that the white t-shirt/khakis look, maybe with the pants cuffed, is so 90's GAP ad and really adorable.

If you're near a Steve & Barry's, they're having one of their sales where every item in the store is $8.98 ($9.90 post tax). Might want to check that out even though it's probably made in a sweatshop.

That's what I thought, then I saw how you're suppose to wear one. You also need a decent upper body to pull it off however. But you can look damn hot in them. I don't however approve of khakis for some reason and the asian-american male love of them.

Be sure to stay away from a Hendrix or Led Zeppelin T-shirt.........or any T-shirt for that matter...ugh!!! Saw a cute T-shirt in Lake George, NY. It had a photo of Bush Sr. and Bush Jr. and said Dumb and Dumber underneath the photos. It was worth a yuk-yuk. My hub especially liked the T-shirt that said "Tell your boobs to stop looking at my eyes", and got a laugh at that one.

Is there a trick to rolling sleeves? I can never get them to stay rolled up.

Gotta tuck the fabric in itself. Kinda depends on how loose your sleeves are, too.

Two classics to go with khakis. 1. a blue, oxford button down dress shirt. 2. a plain white, tight fitting, T shirt for a vintage 50's (James Dean) look. Both looks should be tucked in. And on the feet a pair of brown loafers or low cut Chuck Taylor tennis shoes.

most suggestions are right on in this thread (button down shirt or t-shirt), but i don't think white is the way to go. i think adding adding button down shirts to your wardrobe is a fairly essential right of passage for any young male entering their early 20s. truth be told, a good button down shirt is 80 times more comfortable than whatever dingy t-shirt you have on at the moment. you being in a generic sense of course. i'm sure paul is dapper as ever.
