Look, if you have something "controversial" to say, just come out and say it. This is the Internet, you don't have to insert your opinion into cough brackets or anything, no one is going to be more offended or shocked if you don't. Half the time you're just taking what would be an otherwise acceptable opinion to have and then delivering it in a way that just makes both it and yourself look completely foolish.
I remember when Adam Sandler did this in Billy Madison, too. "[cough]Bullshit![/cough]" "[cough]Asshole![/cough]" Or was it Happy Gilmore? Okay, I don't remember which. Either way, it was pretty funny. We all had a good laugh. Somehow, it really doesn't have the same effect when you do it today, and on the Internet, no less. It's not funny or original and you're not even using it appropriately 99% of the time. Go back and watch those scenes and understand why it worked in that context and then compare it to your own history of trying to use it.
It's no less annoying when people do this IRL, which I've probably heard a thousand times or more over the past 10 or 15 years, but at least they're really doing it, as opposed to just pretending to on an Internet message board.
For a long time there has been this ridiculous notion amongst indie nerds that indie was immune to the sort of mockery and fade of other genres. It's a sad reality separation. The difference is indie fans are usually too self absorbed to realize it's falling around them (*cough* Okervill River *cough*)
there is no way in hell he will do the quad sound. i highly doubt he will truck an audio rig half way across the country to do this one off. i also doubt he will have his whole lighting / video rig. it will be way toned down. the coachella stage simply cannot support his set up.
