Damo Suzuki: So, um, yeah. Getting older isn't as bad as it sounds. Better than being young & poor (DjDrake) or young & slutty (SG) or young, poor and slutty (Paves); am I right?
Alright, my friends. It's time for another solid little rock jam

Monster Magnet - Spine of God
mmmmmm, delicious
edit: rocking though? I think the people naming Fun House are more down with the essence of the matter here. And it's important we get to the essence, man.

You make a good point. Shoulda gone for Dopes to Infinity.

If you want the definitive Monster Magnet "rock" album, I think the easy choice is Powertrip. Dopes is still more in the Stoner-pschedelic vein (not a bad thing though).
Anyway, for Stooges I'd go Raw Power. Others:
Stones: Exile On Main Street (obvious yeah, but I didn't see it during my quick skim)
Hives: Black And White Album
New Bomb Turks: Destroy Oh Boy! or Information Highway Revisted
Iron Maiden: Number of The Beast
Lynyrd Skynyrd: Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd
Ramones: Leave Home
This feels very random. Best rock album is such a broad yet very narrow category, if that makes sense (i.e. are metal, punk, and every sub-genre of rock excluded? Are we just going for straight rock, whatever that is?).

Nah, I think I get what Elastico's driving at. He wants records that ROCK
This was basically the criteria for music at my bachelor party. When I think RAWK, I usually go for 70's hard stuff or late 70's-early eighties metal. Here's some stuff we amped at my bach:

Odd choice. I would've gone with their second album, Souls Aflame. The addition of Jerry DePizzo's saxophone really added the depth and diversity to their music they've become well known for.O.A.R. - The Wanderer

Oh, well. Different strokes, as they say.

Yoshimi was the Lips trying to stay up-to-date, and to me it's aged poorly compared to the rest of their work.
