Seattle is definitely putting out some of the best hip-hop. Alligator, do you know Blue Scholars or Common Market? I have lots of good Seattle hip-hop I could reccomend/upload if you're interested..

I got a buddy who is really into The Blue Scholars, but I have never really given them a listen. Same thing with Common Market; heard the name, never checked them out. If you could upload the best album from each, or even a song from each, that would be great. Thanks man.

I have Common Market, not Blue Scholars. I'll upload CM soon. BTW, i love that Posdanus track from the Jake One White Van Music! He's one of the most overlooked ill MCs ever. Rhymes you don't get until a week later.

agreed that pos is maybe the most underrated mc of all time. this record's pretty good, still digesting. lots of folks i dont really know but should (folks like black milk, bishop lamont, freeway, etc.) curious to get everyone's take on blue scholars and common market. bs are just mediocre to me, and while i've yet to hear CM their new disk is supposed to be really interesting.

The song freaturing M.O.P. reminds me a lot of Dre's style back in his "Chronic" days. Awesome.

downloaded this one at the same time as the black milk, and though i haven't spent nearly as much time with it, i'm digging this too. i have to say, this is a great fucking year for hip hop. there might not be too many front to back classics, but the range that hip hop has shown this year, and the success it's finding in experimentation (relative to the genre, at least) is really heartening.

I uploaded the new Blue Scholars album, but it got deleted in no time.. So I'll try again later, just saying that's why it's not posted yet. I think Blue Scholars are hit or miss.. But they have some really great songs. "Southside Revival" is one of my favorite rap songs of the past few years.

As much as I enjoy this album, I find myself always preferring the instrumentals. Tracks like "Trap Door", "Glow", "I'm Comming", and "Oh Really" are so good. I normally play the original, then the instrumental, and so on and so fourth.

Stumbled across an old Jake One instrumental EP from 2003. I haven't really given it a listen yet. Maybe someone here will want to give it a shot.

i'll agree w/ this "when they're great, they're great" line of thinking. joe metro is my BS tune of choice, and a few others i forget, but yeah southside revival is definitely a great feel good jam.
