[Alright Still]

Wilco have finished recording demos for the follow-up album to last year's 'Sky Blue Sky'.

The group now plan to start working on the tracks and fleshing them out in their Chicago studio this month.

Guitarist Nels Cline told Rolling Stone: "Sonically it’s going to be a much wilder, much more unexpected record."

Cline added they had plenty of options for the final tracklisting.

He stated: "There’s going to be too much to choose from, right now it’s an embarrassment of riches, for sure."

Alright I'm excited!

Don't know if this is the proper place to post this, but here's a lengthy but awesome (video) interview with Nels Cline talking about drumming extensively with the drummer from Xiu Xiu. I found it really interesting since I've always dug Wilco's drummer and Nels is all about allowing drummers room to breathe in the mix. I got an email from their peeps the other day asking for artwork submissions for possbile merch, posters etc where they mentioned this. Be interesting to see what comes of it all. It also puts so much pressure on me that I will probably lock up and create nothing.

I never got too into Sky Blue Sky, but it was a pleasant listen. I have a feeling this new album won't be too far from the neo-Band songwriting they did for Sky Blue Sky.

Well, the reports, including Nels here, seem to detract from that theory. But I know what you mean. Wilco have never made the same album twice, and as much as I love Sky Blue Sky, I could see it happening.
