I got an email from their peeps the other day asking for artwork submissions for possbile merch, posters etc where they mentioned this.

Be interesting to see what comes of it all.

It also puts so much pressure on me that I will probably lock up and create nothing.

if you want some input on what you are going to send ahead of time, let me know...

I like that and that and that and that and that and that and that, I like it all! Send me more PBMF!
Every Sunday morning I wake up
I see you by your dresser doing your make-up
Fluttering a Chinese fan in a Knoxville fashion
All last night you tossed and turned
Your body was hotter than the night Richmond burned
You say you had a bad nightmare about tractor trailers crashing

I'd keep SBS, assuming Kicking Television is hiding, safe in the attic. This is great news, though. Maybe we can get a record sometime in the first half of '09? Just maybe? I'd love to hear some fuzzed-out freakish guitar squall with something akin to John Wesley Harding underneath.

MAYBE THE SUN WILL SHIIIIIINEEE TODAY

edit: Why do people put Sky down so hard when it's so great?

for me it just wasnt very exciting. i had heard most of the songs either live or bootlegs at that point and thought they sounded flat or sunday morning-esque. I went back and listened to it last december thought after time away and thought it was great. the multiple shows in February helped too.

I didn't bother listening to Sky Blue Sky when it came out last year, because everything I heard about it lead me to believe it would be a snoozefest. I've only heard it a few times this year, but it's not bad--sometimes low expectations are a good thing. So does this mean the new album will probably come out next year sometime?

i probably listen to a ghost is born the least, save am...but i'm definitely a bit of a fanboy for these guys and still think a ghost is born is a very good album, but something about it leaves me cold...i prefer the live versions on kicking television, big time

i don't understand you people sometimes. agib is dusty and majestic. sbs is pleasant. i can lose myself in agib. sbs makes me want to go for a long ride on a sunny day. agib has a lot less surface area than sbs, which makes it a stronger album in my eyes and ears.

I have a feeling this new album won't be too far from the neo-Band songwriting they did for Sky Blue Sky.

Well, the reports, including Nels here, seem to detract from that theory. But I know what you mean. Wilco have never made the same album twice, and as much as I love Sky Blue Sky, I could see it happening.

I agree that they haven't made the same album twice (although YHF and AGIB do come close). Yet, I just have a feeling we're going to get more of the same this time. I really hope I'm wrong.

indeed. by quite a bit. much much more cohesive (if not as exciting at times)

AGIB and AM fight it out for my least fave Wilco record, but i still like both a good amount.

I just did an iPod fall cleaning. All Wilco was removed except for ST, YHF and AGIB. AGIB has some first rate songs even though it's very uneven.

It's still on my PC hard drive in the main collection folder, just not on the iPod. It just sounds so clanky and dated now.

agreed. but i love a handful of AGIB songs. SBS may end up being my favorite Wilco, it certainly is now. and i agree about Being There not holding up.

Much Wilder would make a good album title if you ask me ;)

hmm...i prefer "More Nachos". just the right amount of WTF?
I fully support people doing drugs on the streets. I'm sick and tired of people being selfish by doing drugs in the privacy of their own homes. Do it on the streets where you can share with your friends and neighbors. It's the Christian thing to do.

dunno. i love sbs without reservation. but it is, one of my less favorite albums. it's an easy one to listen to, but agib withholds, keeps its mystery. to mix more metaphors, sbs is a girl who puts out on the first date and i get bored with after the third (even though i know the problem lies more with me), whereas agib is that girl that i crushed on for so long, but can't really get my head around, the girl who drives me crazy.

maybe i'm just a masochist.
