Fact: Sky Blue Sky >>> A Ghost is Born.
i love both babies, but if i had to make a sophie's choice, i'd keep agib, no question.

if you want some input on what you are going to send ahead of time, let me know...I got an email from their peeps the other day asking for artwork submissions for possbile merch, posters etc where they mentioned this.
Be interesting to see what comes of it all.
It also puts so much pressure on me that I will probably lock up and create nothing.
I like that and that and that and that and that and that and that, I like it all! Send me more PBMF!
I see you by your dresser doing your make-up
Fluttering a Chinese fan in a Knoxville fashion
All last night you tossed and turned
Your body was hotter than the night Richmond burned

for me it just wasnt very exciting. i had heard most of the songs either live or bootlegs at that point and thought they sounded flat or sunday morning-esque. I went back and listened to it last december thought after time away and thought it was great. the multiple shows in February helped too.MAYBE THE SUN WILL SHIIIIIINEEE TODAY
edit: Why do people put Sky down so hard when it's so great?

i probably listen to a ghost is born the least, save am...but i'm definitely a bit of a fanboy for these guys and still think a ghost is born is a very good album, but something about it leaves me cold...i prefer the live versions on kicking television, big time

i don't understand you people sometimes. agib is dusty and majestic. sbs is pleasant. i can lose myself in agib. sbs makes me want to go for a long ride on a sunny day. agib has a lot less surface area than sbs, which makes it a stronger album in my eyes and ears.

I have a feeling this new album won't be too far from the neo-Band songwriting they did for Sky Blue Sky.
Well, the reports, including Nels here, seem to detract from that theory. But I know what you mean. Wilco have never made the same album twice, and as much as I love Sky Blue Sky, I could see it happening.
I agree that they haven't made the same album twice (although YHF and AGIB do come close). Yet, I just have a feeling we're going to get more of the same this time. I really hope I'm wrong.

indeed. by quite a bit. much much more cohesive (if not as exciting at times)
AGIB and AM fight it out for my least fave Wilco record, but i still like both a good amount.

I just did an iPod fall cleaning. All Wilco was removed except for ST, YHF and AGIB. AGIB has some first rate songs even though it's very uneven.
That's just stupid. Why anyone would delete Being There is beyond me!

It's still on my PC hard drive in the main collection folder, just not on the iPod. It just sounds so clanky and dated now.

agreed. but i love a handful of AGIB songs. SBS may end up being my favorite Wilco, it certainly is now. and i agree about Being There not holding up.

dunno. i love sbs without reservation. but it is, one of my less favorite albums. it's an easy one to listen to, but agib withholds, keeps its mystery. to mix more metaphors, sbs is a girl who puts out on the first date and i get bored with after the third (even though i know the problem lies more with me), whereas agib is that girl that i crushed on for so long, but can't really get my head around, the girl who drives me crazy.
maybe i'm just a masochist.
