Call me crazy, but I'm already thinking of the end of the decade poll coming up. In the meantime, I had an idea for some quick and dirty year polls for the 00's. I was thinking of something like this: Nov. 1-15 - Collect votes for the best albums of 2000. Top 10 only. Nov. 16-23 - Tabulate - Collect Blurbs for top 10 winners. Nov. 20-something - Post the top 40. Repeat in December for 2001. July or August or September (in case I miss a month here or there), we'd wind up with a mid-year "correction" of 2008, move onto 2009, and I assume, after that, have a full decade poll. Anyone interested?

In the way that this year was greatest ever artist, best album of this decade would be next summer I imagine. edit: sorry didn't read your post. Why would you want to do a half arsed poll now when we can do a proper one next year?

I'm talking about doing QUICK, EASY yearly polls to recap the decade now, whereas, at the end of 2009 or something, I assume a FULL decade poll (all the years mixed together) would be done.

I'm confused. Are you not sure about your favorite albums of 2000? 2001? 2005? Everyone appears to think I'm talking about a poll of the best albums of the 00's, and not the best albums of 2000/2001/etc. Is there interest in running through these individual years before we do the whole decade?

I understand, I just see why we would bother. We've got the all time lists next year anyway, sure that will be enough.

I love the idea! Lets do it, and don't get discouraged from any naysaying, some people just need a bandwagon before they'll jump into it. I'm all for it, and i'm starting to listen to some of my favs from 2000. Thanks for taking this one! - Greg

you want to do an EOY poll for a bunch of years that already have EOY poll statistics already? I am really missing any point in this.
Download this EP I made. The songs are pretty close to where they should be. I colaborated with Brian Wilson and Thom Yorke and then we all fucked in my basement apartment. Thom has a really big dick suprisingly, and Brian Wilson cried the whole time, yelling "These moans are not in perfect harmonic unison". Anyway, it sounds like what you would imagine something from that situation sounds like.

I feel this: a. is too difficult b. would not get enough people invested in voting in such short time to be of any use c. would distract from the 2008 poll d. all of the above

Yes, right. I need to start in December. I think that was my original plan, but for some reason I forgot and put november as the start.

Sounds interesting. I think it will be good for the new SOMB as well. Time to turn a new leaf.

I see you by your dresser doing your make-up
Fluttering a Chinese fan in a Knoxville fashion
All last night you tossed and turned
Your body was hotter than the night Richmond burned
You say you had a bad nightmare about tractor trailers crashing

I will probably vote for the decade poll but that would be like near the end of next year, right? No way I'll make a top ten of each year for the decade though. I don't think I pay that close attention to this stuff

It's good to be in favor of things, so I am in favor of this. And Simakos and Montana are both wrong. Whatever they pick. Which means Paul Anka wins it. Hooray.
