Thinking about making a switch in cable services from Comcast to WOW. Has anyone had both? WOW is cheaper, but is there a downside?

WOW respects your privacy. WOW has nice customer service. *there is no comparison on any level*. Switch immediately.

WOW has nice customer service.
i dont believe Comcast even has customer service. they just have random assholes pick up the phone and tell you no before you ask a question

The only thing holding me back is that I've heard WOW has significantly less HD channels- anyone know what's left off WOW in terms of HD?

go with WOW. It is consistent and has better service/pricing. The on demand is lacking as far as free content goes, so there is that to consider. Also, all the menus look like generic dollar store versions of comcast menus. Both those things shouldn't really matter considering what you're saving though.
Plus, as soon as you switch comcast will start bombarding you with incredible offers should you decide to switch back.

I kind of dig Comcast now that I have it hooked up, although the initial hook-up ordeal was horrible.
The secret to Comcast is if you ever have any hardware problems, don't ever make a customer service appointment. Just go to one of their service centers and swap your "broken" box for a new one. I've had one broken box and one upgrade to HD (over a five year period), and the box swap is quick and painless, and there's none of that we'll be at your place between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. bullshit.
On the downside, Comcast porn is extremely expensive and they don't show pop-shots. I learned my lesson once, and I won't make that mistake again.

Not available in the bay area.
I was amazed to learn that if I drop Comcrap for AT&T, I would actually need a dish to get their cable service.

Wow cable is the suck. Their internet service is great, though. Highly recommend it. They bumped my speed up to 6, or 8 mpbs free of charge too.

No experience with either personally, nor have I heard anything from customers about WOW which available around here. Cleveland's Time Warner and Cox. I have Cox in my suburb.
I'd think you'll find more selection, better interface with Comcast though.

totally agreed here. when i had it back at my parent's place, we also had very few service interruptions, and they were usually planned (we were notified in advance) and they did not last very long. never had any problems with their TV service. we had basic cable ~70 channelsThinking about making a switch in cable services from Comcast to WOW. Isn't comcast one of the cable companies who did that thing to the other thing that made people really unhappy? You know... that one thing. Goddamn marijuana-induced short term memory loss - I really did have a point.
Oh, and Nick says he loves Comcast and never has a problem with it. So there's that.
