how does Chinese Democracy already have multiple #1 votes? wtf?!?! is it actually good? did the glorious Dr. Pepper mock it in vein? am i in the wrong for wanting it to come out only to receive my Dr. Pepper?

"After much thought into this, I have finally come to a conclusion as to why the ‘Meet the Spartans’ commercial is so funny:

It is an interesting choice to have Sanjaya sing ‘I’m not gay,’ as his final words on earth. As he is plummeting into a seemingly bottomless pit, he does not say ‘dear god no,’ ‘I love you mom,’ or even simply ‘argh.’ He instead takes the moment to reaffirm to the world, in spite of their doubts, that he is not a homosexual. Not only that, but he continues to sing, despite falling to his certain death. The distinct lack of plausibility of this situation is what produces giggles from our mouth. It is the antithesis to the belief that ‘it’s funny because it is true.’

I guess, but man, if only all the Blitzen Trapper types voted for Nachtmystium, Fucked Up, and Chinese Democracy as their top three.

Not that the Guns 'N Roses album is any good at all, but still.

Damo Suzuki: So, um, yeah. Getting older isn't as bad as it sounds. Better than being young & poor (DjDrake) or young & slutty (SG) or young, poor and slutty (Paves); am I right?

Alright, my friends. It's time for another solid little rock jam

Black Swede, fantastic list.

20 wild sweet orange- We Have Cause to Be Uneasy

You know, I just saw these guys like a week or two ago at the recommendation of a coworker. They were pretty good. I checked out this disc shortly thereafter it's nice. Big fan of 'Ten Dead Dogs.'

this list essentially reflects how many times i spun a record during the last year...
i obviously have a bit of ADD when it comes to music and go on waves throughout the year.
i believe its mostly seasonal, and remember spending more time on indie rock in the spring/summer.

anyway, it is what it is...a bunch of records i really liked listening to this year...

No, but I'm reading about it right now and it appears to have been released on Rune Grammofon, so I'm pretty much sold.

It's the closest thing I've heard to Imperial Distortion, so thought it might go over well. I'm totally clueless when it comes to this type of DIFFICULT music, but I know what I like.

It's very good.
Every Sunday morning I wake up
I see you by your dresser doing your make-up
Fluttering a Chinese fan in a Knoxville fashion
All last night you tossed and turned
Your body was hotter than the night Richmond burned
You say you had a bad nightmare about tractor trailers crashing

Not at all. In fact, just the opposite is true. The hype was so big, so large that it could never possibly meet expectations. Strangely, it did for many people.

This is a good list. I'm glad to see other people putting The Dodos on their list. I expected this to be fairly low on most lists and I expected Fools to be high up for singles. I guess I was wrong. Good list though, man. I have been listening to that Elbow album quite often (I didn't check it out until a week or so ago).

Two #1's and a #12. That's not bad for an indie board that praises Vampire Weekend. Progress baby, progress.
