Yeah, the Darkbloom list is great. I really need to revisit the Black Dog. Seems like I missed something the first time around.

The Year in Darkbloom

50 Eclectic Good-to-Great 2008 Releases (with a few honorable mentions)

So what I realized in compiling this list was that 2008 had no real obvious favorite record for me; that I listened to more records than usual, and liked a lot of them, but didn't have a strong opinion on ordering them. So the lineup after the top 10 is pretty arbitrary, but I guess that's always the case. Anyow, a pretty solid year all things considered.

Damo Suzuki: So, um, yeah. Getting older isn't as bad as it sounds. Better than being young & poor (DjDrake) or young & slutty (SG) or young, poor and slutty (Paves); am I right?

Alright, my friends. It's time for another solid little rock jam

Nice list, VD. (WHOA.) The fact that your name is a Nabokovian anagram is reason enough for me to trust your musical taste without any questions asked. I'll check out whatever I've missed on that list for certain. Fuck you in so many ways, Montana.

Viv, A lot of your list has me curious. You have a rateyourmusic.com account or blog or anything? I'm on the fence on how soon I want to post my list, since most of it is pretty set (i.e...not very likely much movement will occur in the top 50 at this point..51-100 otoh, a lot of activity has been taking place). maybe a reasonable goal should be sometime next week if not earlier just to get it out of the way as I'm packing/moving right now.
