-Worst Single of 2008 (this is the place for songs that are exclusively horrible)
2. Kid Rock - All Summer Long

Forgot about this one. Good call.

Thanks for the reminder:

Worst Single:

1. Kid Rock - All Summer Long
Every Sunday morning I wake up
I see you by your dresser doing your make-up
Fluttering a Chinese fan in a Knoxville fashion
All last night you tossed and turned
Your body was hotter than the night Richmond burned
You say you had a bad nightmare about tractor trailers crashing

I don't understand why Montana likes Fleet Foxes. They seem like the ball-less, boring, generic, same as 100 other bands style band he should despise.

I'm posting a video shortly as to why I like them. Stay tuned (and bored).

You don't need to vote for every category in the miscellaneous polls. If there are only a few that interest you, you should still put up a couple of lists.

are singles not considered album tracks? It's the best song on the album.

Yeah, the album track poll is basically for non-singles. Of course, things slip through like last year when I let a Ted Leo single place on the album tracks poll. I blame everyone that voted for it, though.

I disagree with this ruling. there is no reason an album track can't also be eligible as a single. (recall the controversy last year over "Girls in Their Summer Clothes"). Are Album tracks eligible as Album openers or closers? I would assume so. maybe I'm wrong though.

Best Album Openers

1. Sam Phillips - No Expectaions
2. Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson - Rattlin' Bones
3. Martha Wainwright -Bleeding All Over You
4. Ray Davies - Vietnam Cowboys

Best Album Tracks

1. Ray Davies - Morphine Song
2. Ray Davies - Hymn for a New Age
3. Sam Phillips - Shake it Down

Best Album Closers

1. Rodney Crowell - Closer to Heaven
2. Alejandro Escovedo - Slow Down
Sail Away: The Songs of Randy Newman -7.5/10
Dusty Springfield - Dusty in Memphis 8.5/10
Buddy & Julie Miller - Written in Chalk wow, first listen, but great great record! 9.3/10
Justin Townes Earle - Midnight at the Moviessurprisingly great, never picked up his past releases, but this one's knocking my socks off right away, 8.7/10
M. Ward - Hold Time 8.0/10
Neko Case -Middle Cyclone her best I've heard is my initial impression, but too soon to rate, haven't had a really good listen yet 7.8/10

Yeah, it is basically a way to vote for your favorite songs that aren't singles. Sorry.

And feel free to vote for openers/closers as album tracks as well. Some people just like having as many individual songs repped as possible.

except when they are. example. I have no idea which tracks on Ray Davies' record (or any of my favorite records) were released as singles. I voted for them in the album tracks poll. If I happened to vote for one that actually was a single, so what, it's still an album track, too, no?

I treat the "eligibility" for these the same as I do in the albums/singles polls: I check over the ones that are actually going to be posted (in this case, the top ten) and cut out any that don't fit. Assuming I'm doing my job right. But vote for whatever you want. Doesn't really change what I do.

The phrase album track means non-single. If you ask someone what their favourite Beatles' album track is the answer you are expecting is "A Day In The Life" or "Tomorrow Never Knows" and so on, not "A Hard Day's Night."
Nice bowl of Crunchy Nut you got here, pretty expensive as I recall.
