Finally, the only AC leak I care about.

Hahaha.. nice. I don't agree, but well played sir.
Psyched to hear this, grabbing now. Thanks little hoodrat friend.

Loved the slow wonder, loved mass romantic. The massive amounts of electric version love on these pages makes me eager to revisit. I never really got as into that one as much as I probably owed it... and owed to myself.

Every time I see a picture of this guy, I want to smack that smug fucking look off his face. I will probably end up downloading this.

I always thought he looked like a less smug version of bobby flay.

I don't think it's possible for someone to be as or more smug than Flay, so by definition he HAS to be less smug, but yeah I see the resemblance.

This is such a highly anticipated disc for me. Slow Wonder was my favorite album of '04 and that's actually saying a lot 'cause I thought '04 was a wonderful year for new music. I never got into Challengers much at all and that was really the first Newman/NP project that disappointed me. So I'm hoping for an epic return to form here. Or as Satomi Matsuzaki might put it, "Rebound! Rebound!"

I'm gonna wait to give this (and new Andrew Bird) a listen, though. Still cramming and hemming and hawing over my year-end placements for this year after all.

I know i'm alone here but I think Challengers is the best thing he's ever worked on. That album has only gotten better with time for me, it's easily one of my favorite albums of the decade at this point. Suffice to say thanks for the link can't wait to listen to this one.

This made a better first impression on me than Challengers or The Slow Wonder did, although I warmed up to both of them eventually. Even though Get Guilty struck me as a mostly mid-tempo affair, I gotta say there were enough hooks to keep me interested and going back. I can't spend too much more time with it until I finish my 2008 listening.

This hit bolachas gratis yesterday and I spent a couple of hours refreshing the board to see if anyone had upped yet. Stupid IPS driver.
And after a day of listening, I'd put this behind Slow Wonder but ahead of possibly every NP release besides Twin Cinema. I'm going to put it away for a bit and come back to it next year (oooooh!) and see how I feel. Definitely nothing as immediate as "The Town Halo" or "Miracle Drug", but a very consistent record of mid-tempo goodness.

The leak of this record has inspired me to go get The Slow Wonder which I lost and never reclaimed some time ago. I really, really like this record (The Slow Wonder) but I feel that at least 20% of my affection may have to do with how great the album cover is.

Does track four cut out about a minute or so in for anybody else? The whole sing is there, but unless I skip past the troublesome part, it automatically skips ahead to track five.

"Elemental" is a damn good song.
Few beings have ever been so impregnated, pierced to the core, by the conviction of the absolute futility of human aspiration. The universe is nothing but a furtive arrangement of elementary particles. A figure in transition toward chaos. That is what will finally prevail. The human race will disappear. Other races in turn will appear and disappear. And human actions are as free and as stripped of meaning as the unfettered movements of the elementary particles. Good, evil, morality, sentiments? Pure ‘Victorian fictions.’ All that exists is egotism. Cold, intact, and radiant.
