We all know the big players from this movement. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Yardbirds, The Kinks, etc... but there is SO much hidden gold from this era of music.

have you people heard THE CREATION?

or what about THE PRETTY THINGS? Everyone should have S.F Sorrow in their collections.

anyone else have any hidden gems they would care to share?

Damo Suzuki: So, um, yeah. Getting older isn't as bad as it sounds. Better than being young & poor (DjDrake) or young & slutty (SG) or young, poor and slutty (Paves); am I right?

Alright, my friends. It's time for another solid little rock jam

Pre-British Invasion: The Tornados (aka Joe Meek) - Telstar

Petula (Pet) Clark - Downtown

The Yardbirds - Train Kept a Rollin' (from Antonioni's Blow Up)

Whether Brit Invasion is the greatest era or not I have no opinion.

Why would the fact the music has 'invaded' make it any better?
Nice bowl of Crunchy Nut you got here, pretty expensive as I recall.

i would just like to assume that anyone who likes rock music and it's long rich history, knows who The Creation are and what they sound like. it should really just be a given at this point.

The Animals - We Gotta Get Outta This Place David Bowie - Memory of a Free Festival (NOT British Invasion, but who cares when it's this cool?) Donovan - Season ofthe Witch (also not true Brit Invasion - also too cool to resist)

Don't feel bad. I have never heard of them, nor have I seen Rushmore. My favorite era, though, would have to be the post-punk of the late 70s/early 80s.

edit: Actually, I have seen Rushmore. Don't remember the Creation connection. Also, I don't remember the movie, apparently.

edit 2: Oh, now it's coming to me. The quirky kid and Bill Murray and the teacher chick love triangle. Yeah, that was pretty enjoyable. Still don't remember Creation.
