I have agreed with Simakos five times in the last five days, and not one of those has been sucking up. (well, maybe this one...) I'm scared.

Says the guy who bumped Frightened Rabbit six hundred times. You are the last person out of anyone here to give orders concerning repetitious band talk.
Every Sunday morning I wake up
I see you by your dresser doing your make-up
Fluttering a Chinese fan in a Knoxville fashion
All last night you tossed and turned
Your body was hotter than the night Richmond burned
You say you had a bad nightmare about tractor trailers crashing

Layers of irony crushing my skull.
Nice bowl of Crunchy Nut you got here, pretty expensive as I recall.

Probably not gonna be FF, yeah. TVotR vs. Portishead = the likely showdown.

Damo Suzuki: So, um, yeah. Getting older isn't as bad as it sounds. Better than being young & poor (DjDrake) or young & slutty (SG) or young, poor and slutty (Paves); am I right?

Alright, my friends. It's time for another solid little rock jam

Lucky for you there's nothing beyond that layer of protection.

If putting a horn part on their new album doesn't qualify AC/DC for the most awesome record of the year, I give up.

I mean, c'mon: There's a saxophone on an AC/DC record. Revolutionary shit.

(ok, technically, sax is a reed instrument...)

Jesus I'm pulling so hard for Portishead here.

Not giving out hope though... we haven't seen the new Jonathan Richman yet.

Jesus. I was gonna write a blurb after I finished my work, not realizing that the work would have me up this late. And I'm still not even done yet. Wow, this is gonna suck.

To be fair though - it was a Frightened Rabbit Thread...

Leave this one to the results, not a straw-poll on MMJs best album.

Badu should've made top 20 at least. And I say this even though I dislike her personality. She comes off horribly in Before The Music Dies but there's no denying a real funk and soul gem.

And Raj- if I was a newbie and you made the statement about me just expecting people to like what I like, I wouldn't think that was insulting, rather just ignorant...but I've made my argument for a "songs" list(which absolutely could be done, and however arbitrary or diverse, would be far more interesting a read than a "singles" list) enough times in the past that I'll spare you the wasted time reading because your response has always been the same.

You can link to it if you want, if it's on this version of the board. I remember elcorazon always being the biggest pro-songs guy. I wasn't really around on the SOMB for EOY 2006 or 2007. If you're talking about something from EOY 2005, then yes, it's entirely possible I don't remember a disagreement from three years ago.

Not seeing eye to eye about that is not insulting at all...claiming that I expect people to like music that I like implies that you know of some character flaw in me that you simply have no insight into whatsoever from the little you know of me from this message board.

No, you misunderstood - I was not claiming. I was asking. Maybe you thought it was a rhetorical question?

In the future there is only drink and birds.

Thanks to everyone that has gotten their blurbs in to me. I'm still waiting on a couple though, so is there anyone who wants to write one kind of at the last second? If I don't have them by 10:30, I'll throw them out to anyone interested.

I did. My bad. Love the internet.
As for the "songs" argument, I'll try to find a link when I have more time today or tomorrow....and Elco always took up the cause much more eloquently than I did...miss the son of a gun around here.
Happy New Year to you.

Just double checking to see if you got my 2nd blurb after I initially wrote that I didn't have time to do it?
