Great work, Paul--once again. I guess I should listen to Portishead now.

great job, paul. a few surprises here and there - placements i thought were very high or low for a lot of albums. for instance, i liked that nick cave record, but i never would've thought it'd place where it did.

Great list, but I'm still a little disappointed that my #1 only came in at 124

124 Clinic - Do It 564 10 1

If you're a fan of 60's psychedelic pop music, you're really missing out if you've never heard this album.

154 {{{Sunset}}} - The Glowing City 432 3 2

I like 2 other SOMBs. The rest of you, not so much.

Seems like not nearly enough people heard this record; whenever I play it for friends they at least like it.

Also: awesome work, Paul!

Hmm, placed much higher than Bright Blue Dream. Maybe I should give it a few more listens.

{{{Sunset}}} might have cracked the top 100 if he had only released one album this year

I failed to vote for anything in the top 200.
Sail Away: The Songs of Randy Newman -7.5/10
Dusty Springfield - Dusty in Memphis 8.5/10
Buddy & Julie Miller - Written in Chalk wow, first listen, but great great record! 9.3/10
Justin Townes Earle - Midnight at the Moviessurprisingly great, never picked up his past releases, but this one's knocking my socks off right away, 8.7/10
M. Ward - Hold Time 8.0/10
Neko Case -Middle Cyclone her best I've heard is my initial impression, but too soon to rate, haven't had a really good listen yet 7.8/10

Hey some things I voted made the top 100 and others didn't!
Nice bowl of Crunchy Nut you got here, pretty expensive as I recall.

April @#5 is more than I could have hoped for. Awesome. Overall probably the best list I've seen this year, from anywhere.

I figured The Midnight Organ Fight was a lock for top 5, knowing the FR fanbase on here. Kind of disappointed that it didn't even make top 10.

did some votes get overlooked? i was pretty sure chrono had that at #1 or something

forgive me if im pulling this out of my ass

Paul didn't tab my list at all :(

sonicalligator, if hadn't already bumped your rating downwith my alternate accounts i swear to god i'd be doing it right now

Why do you have alternate accounts?

112 Neon Neon - Stainless Style 633 15 0
141 T.I. - paper trail 471 8 0
144 Jamie Lidell - Jim 462 12 0
147 Black Milk - Tronic 453 11 0
148 Young Jeezy - The Recession 450 6 0
151 Wale - The Mixtape About Nothing 438 7 0
152 Islands - Arm's Way 437 10 0
199 Little Joy - Little Joy 319 9 0
217 Ray LaMontagne - Gossip in the Grain 286 3 0

Expected these to make the list. Besides the Ray album, because I haven't listened to it. Is it any good?

Is this M83 album better than the last one? That left me cold so I never bothered this time around.

Yes. Absolutely. I would say it's significantly better.

Terrible year for music. Dreadful. Kanye West and Malkmus are the only listenable albums of the year.

I still haven't heard the Malkmus album and the Kanye one didn't do it for me. Much different music opinions.
