that's where yr wrong, srrrlkate

i have an amazing sense of humor.

i just didn't see the attraction to his live show is all. and it has nothing to do with him not performing music. i can deal with that. i just felt it all felt very forced and boring to me. plus the crowd was sort of obnoxious and ugly. but largely obnoxious.

Well, he went out of his way to make people uncomfortable, but where I was standing, the crowd played along pretty well and shared some laughs at the absurdity of it all. He could have just stood there and played his iPod. At least give the guy credit for trying to create a unique live experience.

Man, this guy must be great live if you're one of the 15 people surrounding him. But for the other 99 percent of the audience...not so much.

Is the production on this album ear-piercing or is this a bad rip? I'm not sure that I've ever had this feeling of hearing a great song and cringing at the same time.

IMO, not a great album. About on par with his last one, where I thought the slower songs worked a lot better. A few good tracks and a lot of things that didn't need to be recorded. "Wet Wings" is unfortunate. I'd love for this guy to go through a really shitty breakup before he records an album.

it's not even funny how much better this is than his last album. edit: the album feels like a full length version of kingdom come (hlllyh) which is totally great by me.

very very samey throughout, even for Dan Deacon. that promo track was the best one on the album.

Chrono, i disagree... i think it's just more focused and thematically on the same page.

it's too bad that a lot of people are not even going to give this album a try based on their opinion of his other record because this thing is some sublime stuff...

I can vouch for this. I was all ready to hate this, since I absolutely depised his last album. And its not for lack of trying, either: I couldnt make it through a full listen without being rewarded with a pounding migraine. One of the few albums (along with that Crystal Castles shitpile from awhile back) that i'd classify as truly painful.

So imagine my surprise when i gave this a listen last night and it was not only a pain-free experience, but it was almost maybe verging on enjoyable. Ill give it a few more listens before i call it great or anything, but at the very least Bromst is listenable, which is an improvement.

Then why does the kid on the bottom left look so mortifed? He looks like hes in real danger. Same goes for the dude in the yellow, but with him its understandable: unlucky guys on the receiving end of a mouthful of sweaty Dan Deacon armpit.

Also, no matter how much i grow to like this album, i will never ever watch a video of his or go see him live. I'd be too much inclined to punch him in his goofy crayola-colored glasses.

I don't know, my thoughts are closest to Chrono's. I thought this was kinda boring. I kept checking to see how far into the album I was - "What, is every song on here 6 minutes?" - and wanting to go back to my recent favorites.
